I know it's gonna sound crazy to you, but I am glad I got locked up. I needed to get off the drugs. I'm not sure if I could have done it on my own. I'm not saying I needed 7 1/2 years of my life taken from me, but some time was needed.
I'm not sure I understand everything about ya'll. I want to know more. I'm down to let ya'll know anything about my life in prison. You may share it with whomever you find fit.
I will say this place has done a horrible job handling Covid-19. They were not ready for a situation like this.
Example: The CO's wear gloves when they pat down inmates. They do not change gloves after each pat down.
I'm no genius, but I do believe this helps spread Covid-19 to another inmate. When Covid-19 first started, the guards were coming in and out of prison not wearing masks. I believe they are responsible for giving it to all of the inmates.
I don't know what kind of help you provide. I know what would help me. I would like more info in what you do. I have a 7 year-old daughter. She will be 13 1/2 when I get out.
Prison does not prepare you for that. It scares me a little but when I think about this I don't know how to raise a 13 year old child. Prisons don't offer classes on that. I don't have money, so I can't afford to call her like I want.
Prison does not help with problems like that. It would be nice if I had a way to stay in touch with her. I dunno what else to say. If ya'll have any questions about me, this prison, or anything else, just let me know.
Thank you for what you do. You are a blessing whether you know it or not. This world needs more people like you. People forget that it is the people that makes the world.

First off I would like to thank you both for the letters and reading materials you sent me. Your letters touched my heart. I have not heard true kindness like that from anyone other than my mother since my incarceration. Thank you CRPDX for all the work you are doing.
"Don't tell me, Kate Brown, that you're trying to protect Oregonians from Covid by your decisions. Her decisions' criteria is excluding me from being considered for early release to help protect my life from Covid-19...”
“...If people really want to protest, speak out about life or death issues. This is it, speak out for me, and others who can be early released!"

I don't know where to begin with this situation, but we now have proof that the Department of Corrections––I guess I can't say intentionally, but I believe the word "intentionally" can be used in this situation––intentionally spread COVID-19 through prisoners.
