I posted about this yesterday but I wanted to revisit it because it cuts to the heart of what’s so insidious about the vacuous media coverage and the dangerous dishonesty of “experts”

According to the experts quoted in this story, Iowans were “scared” into mask compliance.
They credit Iowa’s mask mandate in November for bringing the curve down, using anecdotal stories about increased compliance in grocery stores as “evidence”

They say there are no “anti-maskers” when the numbers go up. Because obviously the peasants start listening.
The experts in this unbelievable article are guilty of astonishing levels of misinformation. They just ignored that South Dakota followed the same exact curve and peaked at the same exact time without a mask mandates or increased compliance. Just ignored it.
There was no fear messaging from the Governor in South Dakota and no change in strategy.

Yet they peaked on the same day. Ignoring this and pretending mask compliance worked is legitimately misinformation. It’s a lie.

And the media repeats the lie over and over again.
This is why masks can never end. Because there is no intellectual honesty in the groupthink. They’re unfalsifiable.

When California, with endless mask mandates, experiences a huge surge, it’s ignored. When Iowa & South Dakota have the same curves at the same time…ignored.
They can never admit that it’s not working, they will never admit it’s not working, because that would mean acknowledging how much they’ve lied. And they have lied. A lot.

It’s dangerous, and for anyone actually paying attention to reality, it’s going to continue to erode trust

Back in October and throughout November, LA County health officials blamed Dodgers and Lakers fans for increasing Covid numbers.

Locals here know San Diego HATES LA. Especially the Dodgers.

So why did San Diego follow the exact same curve? Why would they be celebrating for LA? ImageImage
Here is an LA Times “health reporter” and an “MD MPH” from UCLA also discussing this, literally yesterday.

Complete insanity. Image
This is what’s so insidious about the media allowing public health officials to lie. It’s easy for them to check if what the health officials are saying is factually accurate or makes logical sense. And they just don’t do it. They refuse to do it.

It’s been over three weeks since Alabama won the College Football National Title and had huge, maskless celebrations in the streets

Sports media, predictably, hysterically overreacted, predicting Covid disaster in Alabama two weeks afterwards

So what’s happened there?

Oh
Here’s a selection of stuff published immediately afterwards
@ByPatForde and @JGilesComedy did some good work

Ok so I already did a thread on today’s CDC nonsense, but it's even worse than I thought

The CA counties used in the study, supposedly proof of statewide mask mandates working, are Alameda, Contra Costa & SF

Their mandates were all in effect by 4/22. State wasn’t until 6/18
So when did they start counting data from these counties? Who knows! Every site has different starting periods.

But it makes absolutely no sense to use only three sites from a state that all had mandates months earlier, and pretend like the STATEWIDE mandate made any difference
Obviously, they also, of course, got to ignore the fall surge, which, you know, seems relevant.

Sigh. More misinformation from the CDC to combat.

Ok fine, here we go.

There are many things here, but the easiest way to determine that this is complete garbage is check where the CDC decided to end their “study”.

Well that’s sure convenient, huh? Image
Somehow, the mask mandates also worked for one specific age group! That’s right! Over 65? No statistically significant difference. Under 40? Also no difference

But at least 40-64, must have been a big success, right?

Nope, 5.5% decrease in growth rate. That’s their claim. 5.5% Image
Let’s keep going. How about the limitations?

Well, no biggie, it didn’t capture anyone under 18, didn’t control for some policies that might also effect growth rates, only captured COVID-NET states, and most importantly didn’t look at local mandates, only state ones! Image

Recently I posted how Collier County, FL, home of the horrifying unmasked grocery store video, had done so much better than counties in CA & AZ

Well here’s Charlotte County, which is essentially next door

Even though Collier’s not enforcing masks, Charlotte’s also doing worse
In fact, cumulatively, population adjusted deaths are 51% higher in Charlotte County, despite Collier’s lack of compliance

Lee County is in between them &Lee doesn’t have a mask mandate at all

And yet they’re also doing better cumulatively, despite being the highest density
Lee is actually ~4x the density of Charlotte County, but Charlotte’s death rate is 53% higher.

So why are Lee and Collier doing so much better than Charlotte, despite having an unenforced mandate and none at all?

Who cares? The science is crystal clear. Masks work.

Oklahoma has provided an Epidemiological report every week, where they show data from cities w/ & w/out mask mandates

I want to draw your attention to this part, because it’s important:

The growth rate, during the biggest surge in cases, was the lowest in non-masked cities
There are many things to parse here, but growth rate is what the CDC loves to use in their “masks work” “studies”

And again, the no-mask areas did better in growth rate during the biggest surge in cases in Oklahoma.

For reference, 11/1 is marked, and the graph ends 1/12.
Let me repeat. During the biggest surge in cases in Oklahoma, non-mask cities did the best.

The point isn’t even the exact numbers, it’s that if masks were as important of an intervention as we’ve been told, this should not be possible.
