Back in early May with the infamous Grandma Killer thread, I warned about the destruction of our society of we kept it closed. I saw how the two weeks had already stretched into the second month, with no projected end in sight. We had empty hospitals and ERs & no vent shortages.
I listed a number of vulnerable places that would never be the same if we continued with closures. One of these, museums, I later wrote about here for the @dcexaminer. washingtonexaminer.com/politics/the-g… For this piece, I spoke to museum professionals and the picture they painted was dire.
Well, now here we are. One of the best and richest museums in the country is SELLING ITS ART TO PAY THE BILLS. nytimes.com/2021/02/05/art… It’s cannibalizing itself. As a lover of the arts, this makes me feel physically sick.

Hahaha wow she’s upset me and my Facebook friends floated the idea of calling CPS on her? People have truly lost their minds.
I’m so surprised that she’s not chill with the idea that we floated the idea of sending over a government agency with the power to destroy her family to her front doorstep.
Would be a shame if all my housewife followers went to tell @marcusblimi about feminism thinks about this kind of speech.

Here’s @MarcusBlimi liking a popular comment about calling CPS on me. Totally normal people having a total normal day.
The comment she’s clicking like on is me saying I’m okay with my kids getting COVID. Which I am, and more people should admit. It’s statistically shown to be an insignificant event for almost every child.
The alternative is keeping them locked inside. That is being shown over and over again to be extremely dangerous for their mental and emotional health.

Weird soapbox to climb on while schools around the country are closed and millions of American kids have been completely abandoned.
Her descriptions of what homeschoolers do and what homeschoolers advocate for is completely divorced from reality as far as every homeschooler I have ever interacted with.
Here’s what’s happening: progressives see the warming of the American mind to the idea of homeschooling because half of America has been forced into it and lo and behold, it’s actually a lovely way of life for many. They are preemptively starting their assault on homeschooling.

Every time a teacher curses me out or gets nasty with me, I add another year to the amount of time I'll be homeschooling my children.
"Hey Bethany, how do you feel about homeschooling your kids?"
I love that they’re still condescending about the great educational disservice I’m doing by homeschooling them when THEY HAVENT WORKED IN A CLASSROOM IN A YEAR.
