I have learned today the tragedy killing of my little brother Gebremariam Tsehaye. On February 2, 2021 Eritrean army massacred around 50 civilians (mostly men) in a village called Miri'ena (South West of Axum City). My brother was among those being slaughtered innocent civilians.
My brother was an accountant. He used to work for Ethiopian commercial bank as a branch manager in My Geba, west Tigray. Since the war started, he ran to our origin village called Chilla near Axum to safe his life. Couple weeks ago he came to Axum on foot to see his 2 daughters.
However, his ex wife left one of their daughter with her grandparents in Mirena South-West Axum around 10 kms. He decided to go and see his daughter. But this village was under the Eritrean army. Then, they started searching young men from house to house and killed around 50.
