It is with a heavy heart that we received the very sad news of the passing of our 1st CART19 #Tcell patient. Bill Ludwig was a true #cancer #immunotherapy pioneer and a humble #hero 1/x

Bill leaves many legacies. His contributions to science live on in many publications, and in the many CAR T patients who followed him enrolling on our clinical trials, & those of our academic and industry collaborators. 4/x
He had some sense of the impact he had on #cancer #immunotherapy, but remained modest about the part he played, and grateful to the Center for Cellular Immunotherapies, @PennCancer & @PennMedicine 5/x
