It seems that @ERTsocial ran a report about the PM’s tour of the island of Ikaria yesterday during its noon bulletin -after the uproar and general outcry however, the following notice was posted in the Production Room to ensure this “mistake” was not repeated.

The note reads:
“SOS SOS
To fellow producers
We don’t run (a) photo(s) or video of @kmitsotakis on the veranda of the Stefanadis residence (lunch) in Ikaria.
Also, we only run footage of Lignadis on his own, not with others.
Thank you”

For reference:
a. The “Stefanadis residence” refers to the lunch offered to the PM & an entourage of about 30 people by party MP Stefanadis, that sparked furious criticism & made the rounds of foreign media (yet not many Greek ones) in a PR disaster that won’t go away
and
4/
b. “Lignadis” refers to the former director of the greek National Theatre who found himself at the centre of rumours about sexual harassment & subsequently resigned. The well known director is famously a friend of the Minister for Culture who appointed him as director -
5/
hence the urge to spare the Minister’s embarrassment.
This brazen manipulation of the news agenda makes a pitiful mockery of any semblance of journalistic integrity of the country’s national broadcaster and is now an issue of freedom and democracy.
Any response will, of course, be more than welcome -this complaint and its grave implications cannot go unaddressed.
