Republicans wrote every aspect of Georgia’s election laws. They’re only trying to change it after Black voters turned out in record numbers to flip state blue & elect two Dem senators

This is exactly why Dems need to pass John Lewis Voting Rights Act & major democracy reforms

How Biden can reverse GOP attacks on democracy:

-enforce Voting Rights Act at DOJ

-register voters through federal agencies

-fix 2020 census

One question I am asked over & over is can Biden fire Louis DeJoy?

He can't fire DeJoy directly but he can appoint 3 new governors to USPS board giving Dems 5-4 majority that could get rid of him & reverse changes designed to sabotage USPS
Trump DOJ filed only 1 small case to enforce Voting Rights Act

Expect Biden DOJ to file many more

-15 states with 38 million people elect 30 GOP senators

-California with 40 million people elects 2 Dems

Georgia Republicans weaponizing fake claims of voter fraud into real voter suppression:

-vowing to roll back mail voting

-closing polling places in Black & Latino areas

New voter suppression plan proposed by Georgia GOP:

-voter ID for mail ballots

-getting rid of no-excuse mail voting

-banning drop boxes

-making it easier to reject mail ballots

All b/c there was record turnout & Biden narrowly won state
This is the new GOP playbook: they don’t even need to find any evidence of voter fraud. The mere “perception” of such fraud spread by insane conspiracy theories is enough to justify new restrictions on voting. This is incredibly dangerous for democracy

Runoff elections set up in Georgia in early 1960s by segregationists to keep Black voters from participating
