1. Australia's High Commissioner in India, @barryofarrell has done it again. He has tweeted his tribute to the decorated Indian soldiers serving the Australian Imperial Force in WW1. Only, he has left out all Muslim or Christian names from his tribute.
2. A simple google search would have revealed an old unfinished list of 'Indian Origin Enlistments into the Australian Imperial Force WWI' by Australian Indian Historical Society including Charles Khan, the first man of Indian Origin to enlist who embarked on overseas duty.
3. @AusHCIndia could have asked his friend and party colleague @JulianLeeser whose inauguration of a Cenotaph erected by Hindu Council of Australia in Sydney drew criticism from historians Len Kenna and Crystal Jordan for the exclusion of Muslim names. sbs.com.au/language/engli…
4. Barry O'Farrell had earlier visited the HQ of the fascist paramilitary organisation #RSS in November 2020, drawing widespread criticism including a petition by @FriedrichPieter & a speech by Senator @janet_rice, both demanding his resignation. Plus:
Is @barryofarrell not receiving the correct briefing from his staff or is he oblivious of the sensitivities involved, when he bursts into print?
Or is he receiving his briefing from the #RSS?
Shouldn't it call into question his competence for the job?
