In Russia the school history books now edit out the inconvenient bits like the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. It is essential that we teach our kids and ourselves "history" not "propaganda". Debating Churchill and his place in things and encouraging balance is a good first step in that
The great irony is that the Faragist tendency - for all its hot air talk of cancel culture and "rewriting history" actually wants to do both things. It wants to cancel debate and rewrite history.
