Insane example of how the ultra-left often allies with the right-wing and US imperialism: The (Maoist, anti-Soviet) Communist Party Marxist-Leninist of Ecuador is campaigning for US-backed coup-supporting NGO candidate Yaku Pérez.

They supported banker Lasso in the last election
Ultra-leftism is just as bad for left-wing politics as right deviationism.

The so-called "anti-revisionist" Communist Party Marxist-Leninist of Ecuador hated the socialist Correista movement so much, in 2017 they endorsed right-wing banker Guillermo Lasso
pcmle.org/EM/spip.php?ar…
The cherry on top showing how insane ultra-left politics is: This is a leader of the front group of the (Maoist/Hoxhaite) Communist Party Marxist-Leninist of Ecuador meeting with US coup puppet Guaidó!

They're so anti-Venezuela they're pro-US imperialism
If you consider yourself a Marxist but your dogmatic ideological "purity" leads you to campaign for a US-backed NGO liberal Trojan horse, after endorsing a right-wing banker, and after your leader had a friendly meeting with Juan Guaidó, you really need to rethink your politics
I should add, although the PCMLE was founded as Maoist, it broke with Maoism in 1978, becoming a weird Hoxhaist mix. But instead of making this a fringe sectarian debate, point is obsession with "revisionism" & ideological purity often leads the ultra-left to side with the right

I cannot stress this enough: What we are seeing in Ecuador is an attempt to steal an election from a popular leftist candidate.

The US, OAS and Colombia are meddling in Ecuador's internal affairs.

And the electoral body is conspiring with the 2nd/3rd place neoliberal candidates
What Ecuador's National Electoral Council (CNE) has done, holding a private meeting with the 2nd & 3rd place candidates, who used the platform to call to "defeat Correismo," & helping them do a recount of votes overseen by the coup-sponsoring OAS -- all of this is already illegal
Ecuadorian legal experts are stressing this is illegal.

This professor of constitutional law says US-backed candidate Yaku Pérez forcing a recount in Ecuador "passed from being a possibly legitimate claim or doubt to a temper tantrum without legal basis"

Here comes a US-backed neoliberal alliance to defeat Ecuador's popular socialist Correista movement.

Neoliberal presidential candidate Xavier Hervas proposed an anti-Correista coalition with right-wing banker Guillermo Lasso and fake "leftist" Yaku Pérez.

Lasso supports it
Ecuador's oligarchs and the US empire are so afraid of the socialist Correista movement coming back, they are trying to unite all opposition candidates in a big neoliberal alliance.

Mexico's neoliberal parties did the same to try to stop President AMLO

Capitalist elites and neoliberal parties are so discredited in Latin America, the only way they can beat leftists in elections is unite all together

Mexico's major neoliberal parties (PAN, PRI & PRD) formed an alliance, Va por México, to try to overthrow AMLO

Now in Ecuador too

The presidential candidate apparently in 2nd place in Ecuador's election, who will go to a runoff in April, Yaku Pérez, claims to be "left-wing," but his US-backed party Pachakutik is a Trojan horse for right-wing oligarchs & US imperialism

(Thread below)
thegrayzone.com/2021/02/06/yak…
Ecuador's so-called "left-wing" environmentalist presidential candidate Yaku Pérez is from the party Pachakutik, closely tied to US/EU govt-funded NGOs

The US NDI (a CIA cutout) trained Pachakutik leaders, alongside right-wing Venezuelan & Mexican leaders
thegrayzone.com/2021/02/06/yak…
Ecuador's US-backed fake "left-wing" party Pachakutik helped lead a violent 2010 coup attempt against elected socialist President Rafael Correa, working with the right-wing and traitorous soldiers and police.

This mirrored US coups in Venezuela & Honduras

The Biden White House made it clear its goal in Venezuela is still regime change

Ignoring propaganda about "democracy," it wants a "transition" from the current elected Chavista gov't

Meanwhile Biden still recognizes coup puppet Guaidó, who received ZERO votes to be "president"
Venezuela already has a democratic gov't. But the US forced the right-wing political forces it bankrolls and controls in the country to boycott recent elections, then refused to recognize the results.

When the US calls for new elections, it means "elections the left doesn't win"
The Biden admin's Venezuela strategy has similarities with Reagan's war on Nicaragua.

The US demanded elections, so Nicaragua had free elections in 1984. The Sandinistas won.

So the US crushed Nicaragua with a terror war and blockade until the Sandinistas lost the 1990 election

The US empire is so "progressive" it now has a Black leader of the military who will oversee genocidal wars of aggression against Black and Brown people all across West Asia and Africa, bombing civilian infrastructure, droning weddings, enforcing medieval blockades.

"Progress"!
This kind of liberal imperialist whitewashing is precisely how you get a job at US government mouthpiece the New York Times
Ok I'll bite: It's telling how many radlibs who support police abolition would never, ever call for the same for the imperial US military.

This is just like celebrating police diversity.

The US war machine must be abolished, not made more representative

The Israeli apartheid regime constantly attacks Syria, with total impunity and barely even any press coverage.

In the latest attack, Israeli warplanes massacred a Syrian family of 4, including 2 children, while wounding 4 more people dailystar.com.lb/News/Middle-Ea…
The Israeli apartheid regime admitted to bombing Syria at least 50 times in 2020, and it got very little coverage.

And this is likely a very conservative estimate. An ex IDF general admitted in 2019 that Israel had attacked "thousands" of targets in Syria
