"In these difficult times we need to make a stand against the growth of racism, Islamophobia and antisemitism and any attempt to divide working people."
Stirring words from "Stand Up To Racism" and the TUC!
Hart is Chair of the RMT’s Black and Ethnic Minority Members’ Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the TUC Race Relations Committee.
Well, here he is just yesterday hurling “white supremacist” at a campaigner against antisemitism, in the midst of the Ken Loach furore. 2/10
And here he is with the “stalwarts” Chris Williamson and Marc Wadsworth.
Both were prominent figures in the Labour antisemitism crisis. Wadsworth was expelled in 2018 for bringing the party into disrepute. Williamson was dropped as a Labour candidate for Parliament in 2019. 3/10
Hart also showed his support for Wadsworth shortly after he was expelled from Labour by promoting this meeting. 4/10
As for Williamson, he is nothing less than a "true antiracist". 5/10
Hart is keen on Jackie Walker too. In 2019, he offered “solidarity” to her at an RMT conference, just as she was being expelled from Labour for "prejudicial and grossly detrimental behaviour against the party". He added a "WeStandWithChrisWillamson" hashtag. 6/10
Here is a picture from that meeting, showing people holding up “Labour Against the Witch-Hunt” (LAW) placards. LAW defends Walker and others pitched out of Labour. One placard rejects the IHRA definition of antisemitism, which Labour had adopted nine months earlier. 7/10
According to an RMT report, Walker’s film was screened at the meeting to illustrate her “persecution”. The report also said Hart had covered Walker’s travel expenses “from his own pocket” so she could join the meeting.
Earlier in 2019, he backed Walker at her film premiere. 7/10
And the other side? Hart laments MPs “hiding behind parliamentary privilege”, media “vilification”, and the “all-white” panel that expelled Walker. “Reminiscent of the Deep South. # GuiltyAsBlack.” Walker and Wadsworth were victims of "blatant racist acts". "Lynch mob!" 8/10
Hart has also backed Asa Winstanley, one of the most controversial figures in the party’s antisemitism crisis. He was suspended by Labour in March 2019. He walked out last year, ranting about the “Israel lobby”, before facing questions about a 45-page long dossier. 9/10
Some trade unions and "Stand Up To Racism" (SUTR) have long been conspicuous in the antisemitism crisis.
SUTR is an SWP fraud and incorrigible.
One must hope unions can do better. But the signs are not encouraging. 10/10

Jeremy Corbyn and Tariq Ali are very old and dear friends, going back decades.
So it is no surprise to see Tariq issue a "solidarity message" to this upcoming meeting, which is one of the ugliest rallies for antisemitism yet, in a very crowded swamp. 1/5 us02web.zoom.us/webinar/regist…
The meeting features Chris Williamson, the walking disgrace pushed out by Labour last year; Jackie Walker, expelled from Labour in 2019; newly suspended Moshé Machover; and the notorious antisemite Tony Greenstein, expelled from Labour in 2018. 2/5
Kerry-Anne Mendoza of the Canary hate site is also on the list. This will probably make no difference whatsoever to Labour figures such as Ian Lavery MP - they will happily continue to associate with her, surely. 3/5
*Thread* The Islamist pressure group MEND and the Socialist Worker Party front “Stand Up To Racism” are a fine pairing.
They say they oppose racism. But when it comes to antisemitism, they are part of the problem. So any posturing at this meeting should be rejected. 1/12
Awareness is rising. Earlier this year, Tower Hamlets council refused to host a "Stand Up To Racism” event featuring Glyn Secker, a far left activist who has accused Jewish leaders of being “in the gutter” with “rats” of the far right. 2/12 thejc.com/news/uk/counci…
There’s more to say. This time, about the SWP activist Nahella Ashraf, scheduled to speak at the event this weekend.
In 2018, the antisemitic hardcore, including Chris Williamson and Tony Greenstein, assembled outside Labour’s headquarters to demonstrate against the… 3/12
*Thread* Why does the Labour MP Barry Sheerman work with the nasty Islamist group MEND?
He went to all the trouble of recording a friendly video meeting with them last month and then the video was disappeared without a trace.
Why might that have happened? 1/9
Saqib Saddiq, Sheerman’s host in the video and a MEND “working group” volunteer in Huddersfield, might provide a clue. Perhaps someone had a look at him? His Facebook account has also been wiped clean. 2/9
Here is a sample, preserved from the good old days – "lobby" money corrupting British politics. A commenter makes this explicit and Saddiq “likes” his words. Oh, and another: the Board of Deputies of British Jews is “institutionally racist”. 3/9
*Thread* MEND is an utterly reprehensible extremist outfit. So it is no surprise to see they are now promoting the Islamist preacher Uthman Lateef, a supporter of death cult terrorists. 1/8
There's lots to say about Lateef. But just one episode will give you the picture. Here he is speaking up for Mohammed Hamid, a "dear brother", "locked up unfairly under false terrorism charges". "Keep him in your prayers", Lateef tells Muslims. 2/8
Meet Mohammed Hamid and his band. 52 dead in London in the 7/7 bombings? "That's not even a breakfast for me", says Hamid. 3/8
*Thread* On the eve of the EHRC report on antisemitism in the Labour party, reform and action are urgently needed.
One place where Labour can start is Mend. Some of its people still lend this reprehensible Islamist group legitimacy. Kirk Master of Leicester, for example. 1/17
Mend has an awful record on antisemitism. The latest ugly episode - just this week - is typical. 2/17 thejc.com/news/uk/mend-i…
Important as it is, there is more to this than antisemitism.
Since Kirk Master is Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, perhaps he would listen to seasoned officers who know just what Mend is?
That goes for scheduled speaker Isla Dixon of Leicestershire Police too. 3/17
