NEW comments from @SenBillCassidy:
On his notes: "If I flipped the page, you would have had the one going the other way."
On his Q: "I didn't think it was a very good answer" from the Trump team. "The real issue is, what was the president's intent... [He] chose not to testify."
On his decision: "I'll announce it when I make my vote. ... It's about our country, our constitution our future."

Just about the only drama today surrounding the @mtgreenee cmte vote is whether she in any way says out loud what she told her colleagues behind closed doors last night -- that she regretted her past remarks.
And we're now about to find out!
Greene on the House floor: "You only know me by how ... the mainstream media is portraying me. .... What you need to know about me is I'm a very regular American, just like the people I represent in my district, and most people across the country."
With House Rs now voting on Cheney, clear that @GOPLeader made the politically obvious choice: Keep the tent big, even if it's messy inside.
With majority just out of grasp, best to keep both the @mtgreene & @Liz_Cheney wings in the fold, even if it means a 2-yr high-wire act.
>@GOPLeader after tonight's meeting: "This Republican party is a very big tent. Everyone is invited in. ... We continue to grow, and in two years, we'll be the majority."
>@RepMcGovern kicks off Rules meeting on MTG with this:
"We have never had a hearing like this one before. ... The first reason is that we have never had a member like this before." Calls her rhetoric "truly sick stuff."
More McGovern: "It is not about canceling anybody with different political beliefs. It is about accountability and about upholding the integrity and the decency of this institution. If this isn't the bottom line, I don't know where the hell the bottom line is."
>@TomColeOK04 rebuts: "I find CW Greene's comments deeply offensive... However, the action the majority is taking today raises questions that have nothing to do with CW Greene but concern the institution as a whole." Wants referral to Ethics Cmte.
NEWS: Per 2 Senate aides, Schumer & McConnell have finally reached deal on organizing resolution -- meaning Dems will finally get gavels two weeks after securing the Senate majority. Schumer about to announce on floor.
If you want to nerd out, this is what the last power-sharing agreement in a 50-50 Senate looked like. New agreement is expected to hew close to this, and committee assignments will ride along with it. congress.gov/bill/107th-con…
There is a last-minute holdup that is keeping @SenSchumer from announcing on floor. Stay tuned.
>@RepGregSteube sees metal detectors outside the House chamber, says Joe Biden's going to take your guns.
"Take note, America. This is what you have to look forward to. ... If they can do it right here in the people's house, they will attempt to do it across the country."
Steube says Democrats are trying to "prevent members from exercising their 2nd Amendment constitutional rights in the very place that wasn't secure a week ago." (Actually: You can't carry a gun on the House floor, period.) washingtonpost.com/powerpost/hous…
>@RepPatFallon: Trump "held a permitted legal and peaceful rally."
"A mob breached our sacred capitol; Donald Trump didn't. A mob ... ran amok on these grounds. But Donald Trump didn't. A mob committed despicable and evil acts ... but Donald Trump didn't."
Perhaps no House member that Democrats would less like to hear this message from.
"Rushing this resolution to the floor will do nothing to unify or heal the country," says @Jim_Jordan at House Rules. "These actions, again, will only continue to divide the nation."
>@RepMcGovern not having it: "I'm glad that all it took for you to call for unity and for healing was for our freedom and our democracy to be attacked. But for the last several months the gentleman from Ohio and others have given oxygen to the president's conspiracy theories."
More @RepMcGovern: "We all want healing, but in order to get to healing, we need truth and we need accountability." Notes he was in the Speaker's Lobby and saw the mob trying to rush through the doors. "I saw in their eyes hate and evil."
