One the one hand, this is the most bipartisan vote for impeachment ever.
On the other hand, 43 US Senators denied Trump (and their party and in some cases themselves most especially) should face accountability for a violent insurrection to overthrow a fair election.

Would witnesses have swayed, idk Rob Portman? Maybe, but once McConnell announced he'd vote to acquit, there was little chance for a higher margin (I bet six Rs, expecting disappointment), much less a 67-vote verdict of guilty.
