Steve Baker's CRG (Covid Recovery Group) is basically the ERG (European Research Group, aka hard-Brexit nutters) under a new name.

One suspects the CRG understands about as much about epidemiology as the ERG understood about trade with Europe.
The European Research Group (ERG) never managed to work out what the EU is & why it matters, despite its supposed "research".

The Covid Recovery Group (CRG) seems to have little idea how Covid works & what it will take to recover from it.

Both basically disinformation outfits.
Steve Baker's career prior to establishing the so-called "Covid Recovery Group" (CRG) is interesting, to say the least. He's a true disaster capitalist, with a pretty impressive back-catalogue of disasters.

The govt has announced in a press release that Cambridge Analytica CEO Alexander Nix has been disqualified as company director for 7 yrs for offering "unethical" political services.

Boris Johnson says he "can't remember" why he met with Nix when he was Foreign Secretary in 2016. Image
Tactfully, the govt press release doesn't mention Cambridge Analytica's role in #Brexit, or that a sister company of CA was paid by Dominic Cummings & Vote Leave to place 1.5 billion highly dishonest ads on UK voters' Facebook pages in the days leading up to the 2016 referendum.
The links between Cambridge Analytica & the Tories run deep. At one time the largest shareholder in CA's parent company SCL was Vincent Tchenguiz, a billionaire Iranian-Israeli and generous donor to the Conservative Party.

The yacht belongs to Roman Abramovich's business partner Eugene Shvidler. He also owns a $37 million home in Belgravia and has close business connections to Sir Michael Peat, former treasurer to the Queen & financial adviser to the Prince of Wales. A big player in Londongrad.
Oil billionaire Eugene Shvidler is also the benefactor of the Beit Shvidler Primary School in Edgeware, praised by Boris Johnson for "improving education in the capital" & as a beacon of "ethical capitalism".

Eugene Shvidler & Roman Abramovich owe their fabulous wealth to their close relationship with Putin's regime. Russia is run essentially as a fossil-fuel kleptocracy.
For Putin, Trump & Brexit were ways to extend the power & influence of that kleptocracy. Boris Johnson was a help.

So Steve Bannon has been arrested and charged with running a fraudulent "We Build the Wall" fundraising scheme.

Nigel Farage credited Bannon with Leave's win in 2016. Farage's fundraising schemes are also extremely "interesting". Image
Farage's former PA "Posh George" Cottrell served time for a fraud that involved offering to launder drug money on the dark web. Head of referendum fundraising for UKIP, he's also linked to Arron Banks & to Russian entities involved in money-laundering.

Farage's techniques of rasing funds for/via the Brexit Party are also highly questionable, as @OttoEnglish describes here. Perhaps his close friend Steve Bannon gave him some tips.

Fun fact about Alexander Lukashenko, the fraudulent dictator attempting to hold onto power in #Belarus: he is an admirer of Adolf Hitler's methods of imposing "order" on Germany. Image
Another fun fact about Lukashenko: since 1994, he & his cronies are estimated to have illegally misappropriated an estimated $10 billion. They make extensive use of offshore companies to do this, especially in the British Virgin Islands.

In 1938 Home Secretary Samuel Hoare said the UK "shall put no obstacle in the way of children coming here" & would be "in the forefront among the nations of the world in giving relief to these suffering people."
He did not appoint a "Kindertransport Clandestine Threat Commander".
Nigel Farage's teenage hero Oswald Mosley tried to stir up fear and hatred of Jewish refugees in the 1930s. Fortunately, he was ignored by the British government.

It was obvious many weeks ago that the govt's approach to its contact tracing app was deeply flawed. I set out the reasons why in this thread on 3 May.

It's worse than mere incompetence. The whole sorry business stinks of corruption at the highest level.

Those world-beating contact-tracing system criteria in full:

☑️ Multi-million £ contracts to Vote Leave cronies
☑️ Multi-million £ contracts to corporations recently found guilty of massive fraud (Serco)
☑️ Multi-million £ contracts to Tory donors (Deloitte)
