So Ankara launched illegal military operation in Iraq...and now has claimed a death toll associated with it to excuse some new military invasion and also a crackdown on dissidents inside Turkey. Also goal appears to be to engineer US support (see it already got US embassy tweet)
Reads like it was orchestrated entirely to create a fake crisis so Ankara could wring a phone call or concessions out of new US admin. Image
See the goal is to use this operation, which Ankara itself launched illegally invading Iraq...claiming it fights “terrorists”...to then actually use this as an excuse to go after the opposition at home, which it has already jailed and dismissed most of its mayors Image
Usually if a country decides to launch a special ops raid to free hostages, which hostages we hadn’t heard Ankara talk about much before (why not)...then if the operation is a failure and people are killed the government doesn’t declare victory and then launch a witch hunt
Looks like an operation designed entirely with domestic politics...toward total authoritarianism in Turkey.
Ankara is creating a “casus belli”; any evidence of its claims though

Looks like after having turned it into an all-powerful presidential system, removing immunity from parliamentarians to jail them, the horrid regime will now pass its Enabling Act for total dictatorship, no free media, no dissent, not protests at universities, endless war.
Ankara's regime is one of the most dangerous regimes in the world, partly because it is empowered and protected by friends in the EU and NATO to have total impunity, other powerful authoritarians such as Iran, Russia and China don't get "NATO" stamp.
Ankara is so addicted to war in Syria and Iraq, where it hijacked and destroyed the Syrian rebellion to co-opt it to be used against Kurds, it will never stop its attacks, and that is also why it got involved in Azerbaijan and Libya. It sold this as "confronting Iran" but not.

Extraordinary. The apparent implosion of this organization had its seeds in lack of diversity; important lessons here.
Diversity was lacking, Horn left a week ago; but why diversity is an issue is that it means there were less checks and balances apparently on kind of group think and it was easier to ignore the growing scandal which has now become well known thehill.com/homenews/news/…

Thread: Every time you read these propaganda articles about "warming ties" between Israel and Turkey...you can see how much it is a lie by simply looking at Turkey's REAL ally and friend and how its regime smiles with Iran; this is a photo of REAL WARM TIES:
So before one drinks the kool-aid, just ask "where is the photo of Israel's foreign minister smiling with Turkey's foreign minister"? Wait...Hamas is still being hosted in Turkey. Right. So it is propaganda, fed (leaked) by Ankara and its lobby/friends into the media mill.
And some people claim "Turkey-Israel trade is evidence of good ties"...let me point you to the REAL allies of Ankara in trade...the big pro-government headlines talking about new rail and truck routes to RUSSIA and CHINA.

Turkey-Iran-Russia-China that is the grouping

Ankara working with Assad regime, Russia, Iran...no surprise. Ankara was already working with Moscow and Tehran to try to get the US to leave Syria under Trump admin, it would threaten US, and call White House and make demands, it often got a blank check under false narratives
During the Trump admin Turkey sold itself to US policymakers and its lobbyists in DC as "Turkey is confronting Russia and Iran geopolitically"...when in fact Turkey was doing deals with Russia and Iran....but Ankara knew how to play one tune in US and another on Moscow, Tehran.
Ankara's goal over last several years was to co-opt Syrian rebels, let Syrian regime take Aleppo, for rebels to be dependent, then create SNA to get rebels to fight YPG and Kurds, this began near Manbij and then isolating Afrin in 2017, invasion in 2018 and then Tel Abyad

This whole story is interesting because it appears to peak behind the curtain of networks of “celebrity influencers” suddenly adopting various international causes and makes one wonder how and why these causes are taken up and often why we stop hearing about it days later
People should authentically support causes but this tendency of monetary virtue signaling or “cause of the day” activism may not end up helping the causes it supposedly backs. Authentic support over long term probably makes bigger difference
See I wonder about this, the claim is that when celebrities tweet about something it brings "global attention" to the cause...but doesn't it only bring momentary attention? In the end western celebrities won't actually change India law or laws of others

Thread: There is the usual talking point going around the pro-Iran-Regime-Lobby in which Israel is once again presented as somehow doing something wrong by seeking to work with the US on Iran threats...or that Israel could start a "war"...the usual "war" bogeyman myth
The fact is that Israel is the one being threatened. Israel doesn't run proxy groups throughout the Middle East and arm them illegally by giving militias weapons...or have whole days devoted to bashing Iran or soldiers marching on Iran's flag. Only Iran does that.
There is never going to be a "war" with Iran, war is the talking point to claim that those who oppose the Iran regime far-right extremists are "hawks" or "for war"...which is nonsensical. Iran's regime can't afford a war, that is why it arms militias in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon,Yemen
