Despite some continued taboo, cousin marriage is a time-honored practice as old as human history.

Reports of genetic or mental deformation in children of such marriages have been largely overhyped, if not fabricated, by those with a (perhaps political) bias against it.

According to scientific studies -"the risk of giving birth to babies with genetic defects as a result of marriages between first cousins is no greater than that run by women over 40 who become pregnant".

The risk of genetic deformities applies primarily to couples who are carriers of disorders that are normally very, very rare.

"For over 90% of cousin marriages, their risk [of having a child with a genetic abnormality] is the same as it is for the general population,"

Despite cousin marriage being largely legal and uncontroversial throughout most of the world, it seems that only in America is it stigmatized to such great lengths with all sorts of nonsensical pseudo-science used to back up the propaganda.

History indicates that America's anti cousin marriage hysteria and laws against it started with defective pseudo-science from the 19th-century social engineers of New England as a way to control the poorer population of the country.

Although now associated with poorer classes, cousin marriage has been practiced by elites for centuries (and still is). Most reports of these Royal "deformities" were either exaggeration from opponents or caused by an individual career of them, not from cousin marriage in general

So why has the U.S. become so anti cousin marriage?

American society likely tries to stigmatize it because our elites don't want strong blood tied families and communities but constant outbreeding as part of their hyper individualist social engineering

In conclusion, much of the myths that attempt to make cousin marriage taboo have been disproven in recent years. It's has been and is still very common among the elites (who contrary to socialist myths, aren't mentally/psychically defective due to it)

Much of the outcry against cousin marriage, especially in America, is due to either poor research and the public stigma caused by this, as well as by elite social engineering that seeks to break down any sense of family or community that such marriages have & still work to create
