. @ONS will say in the online guidance "answer what is on legal documents" (eg passport - this is self ID).

Brochure goes even further "What if I do not identity with census options?"

"It's up to you to decide how you would like to answer each question" 😲

This is from a brochure called "your questions answered"

ONS has been a member of Stonewall Diversity Champions since 2006 ons.gov.uk/aboutus/transp…
They invite Stonewall to their consultantations but not @ALLIANCELGB

And as we now know from @BluskyeAllison 's case Stonewall seek to control the thoughts expressed by employees of its diversity champions
How can @ons uphold @PublicStandards and integrity of statistics @UKStatsAuth when it is signed up to a scheme to make staff who don't support @stonewalluk 's political aims afraid for their jobs?

Barraker on Mumsnet gets to the heart of what this compelled speech is all about

Couching words in euphemisms and lies is rendering it impossible to cut to the truth.

mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_ri…
Men are representing women
Men are taking womens places
Men are dictating language women can use
Men are breaching womens boundaries.
Men are rewriting rules for what women may & may not do

And yet we are forbidden from pointing to a single man doing this & stating "He is a man"
And in response to one declaring "we all need to listen to each other to understand how we can make progress together" Image

Best wishes the Helen Pluckrose's new venture. But her analysis of my case is simplistic and wrong

(And it's rude to block people and then talk about them)
My case is not about the "right to believe"

Your right to hold beliefs (Art 9 of HRA) is an absolute right which can’t be interfered with by the state.

You don't need to assert this right specifically for different "allowed" beliefs (that would be authoritarian)
My case is about being discriminated against at work because of my belief.

I didn't lose my case "because my views were gender critical". We will argue in the appeal that I lost because the law was not applied correctly.

Has @ons thought this through ?....

The history of sex and gender is that once you unclip from reality things unravel much further than the officials that did the un-clipping anticipated, and each place which is unclipped accelerates unravelling elsewhere
In this case ONS say "sex" in the census can be what it says on your passport.

Meanwhile Christie Elan Cane is going to the Supreme Court to argue for "X" passports. It's not inconceivable that they might win

elancane.livejournal.com
Currently changing sex on a passport requires a doctor's note that a person is changing gender permanently.

An X passport wouldn't require this. It could just require ticking a box saying I would like X on my passport.

Penny Mordaunt today said that parliamentary drafting rules mean that it is not legal to say "pregnant women" in a law

She is really not keen on clarity about the word woman -- do you remember the Q&A she did at Mumsnet?

MPs are discussing #MOMABill parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index/37…

Proposed amendments leave out "person" and insert "woman"
@RachelReevesMP talks about If we are to encourage women from all backgrounds to become MPs and ministers - 102 years after women won the right to stand for parliament, there are still just 220 female MPs compared with 430 men
The first woman MP to have a baby while serving in parliament in 1976. She had to come into parliament 10 days after giving birth to vote.
