The situation with @ERCOT_ISO is very serious and unprecedented. If your conservation efforts and rolling blackouts are not successful,control of the grid could be lost. @oncor is working closely with my office and emergency managers...:

At this time, @oncor cannot guarantee a maximum amount of time your power may be out. I have advised them that,to the fullest extent possible, neighborhoods should be cycled so we all share in the loss of power so as to lessen the time any neighborhood is without power.

In the power industry you have Peaker Plants. Peaker Plants are older,expensive and inefficient. They operate when there is extreme need. Some have come online, others are about to. We are working hard with @oncor to get your power back on and limit the time of rolling blackouts.

Nearly 1.1 @DallasCountyTx residents are currently without power; many for over six hours, some for over thirteen hours. If you are business with generator capacity, please consider opening as a warming center.

.@oncor informs me that the attempts to restart the rolling blackouts from affected neighborhoods to those that are currently with power have been unsuccessful due to the status of the grid. If you have power, please consider taking in those without power before dark.

Some neighborhoods are coming back on as more generators come online. We are trying to get visibility into when neighborhoods might be restored but don’t have it at this time.
North Texas are strong and help one another. We need that now. My team is already taking each other in.

Please consider group texting, emailing and calling each other to find a warm place for those without one.

Breaking: @ERCOT_ISO is currently asking all transmission companies in Texas to shed an additional 2k megawatts in transmission to customers. This brings the total shed to 20k megawatts. In Dallas County currently has 350k @oncor customers without power. This is the most so far

The additional shed coupled with increased demand will likely increase blackout numbers and times.
We should discuss how Texas let this happen. I understand your anger. I’m angry too. But tonight-right now- is about human and animal survival. Check on and help one another!

.@ERCOT_ISO has allowed delivery companies like @oncor @NRGgg to transmit 1k megawatts back to Texas customers. That leaves the state with a shed of 19k. In Dallas County there are still 350k without power.
