🌨️🥶❄️🌡️ Been reading a lot of purely ignorant responses to TX tweets on power outages, etc.

1. Homes ARE insulated.

2. We DO drip & even small stream the water pipes. We do cover outdoor faucets w/ insulated covers.
Can't drip or small stream the water pipes when the water is shut off because equipment @ treatment plants freezes or due to numerous water main breaks.

3. When one loses whole house heat & temp is below 20 degrees w/wind chill is 0 to -20 degrees ... EVERYTHING...
EVERYTHING FREEZES... pipes, hot water tanks, stored water & food

People DO shut off water supply to homes. Unfortunately by the time problem is known, even that is often not done soon enough. Chit happens!
4. Water pipes are run in the slab, under houses in crawl spaces, & through attics depending on home or apartment building. TX has very few basements. They leak like sieves.

5. Water heaters are primarily in garages and on 2nd story of homes for secondary baths and laundry.
6. Water pipes freeze even w/dripping- in slabs, walls, attics. Slabs freeze/shift. Leaks happen w/ no way to thaw.

7. Electric tanks freeze. Ice expands against metal & creates burst water heaters- esp. a prob in 2 story homes w/out heat for days/many hrs.- 100's of 1000's.
8. While not all people, most people DID prepare ahead with w/ extra food & water.

Many of those people also experienced the worst of the power outages for 2 - 3 days or instead of minor rolling blackouts, it was 6 -24 hrs. @ a time & then w/ 30 min. of heat or less between.
I am one of the fortunate in Fort Worth. Blessed w/ heat & water nearly the whole time. Many people I KNOW have not!

I've also been on the other end before & know how much it sucks!! EX-Thawing outdoor faucet w/blow dryer to prevent kitchen burst inside.

BUT MILLIONS in TX..
... MILLIONS were and are not as fortunate as I have been.

So, to all of the "know it alls" out there, walk in Texas shoes for 5+ days in sub freezing and sub zero temps w/ no heat & water B4 you tell us what to do & how to do it ...

BECAUSE ...
BECAUSE .... most of us have been there done that in other ice storms, too. We're not whiners.

We're rugged survivors for the most part and simply doing the best we can in the worst of situations.

BECAUSE ...

🥶🌡️🌨️❄️
...BECAUSE most have done all the right things in their individual control AND disasters still DID/DO happen despite best efforts that fall out of the individual's control.

AND...let this storm be a lesson for those who did not prepare in any way. 🥶🌨️❄️🌡️
The sun will rise tomorrow!

@ElijahSchaffer I think you'll agree! 🥶🌨️❄️🌡️

CDC guidelines update COVID & Vaccines.

1. Why do vaxxed people need to wait 4 weeks to get tested for TB?

2. Vaxes do not prevent Covid but MAY mitigate severity if contracted. Yet, vaxed no longer need to quarantine >2 wks after vax.

Pregnant women were not part of trials yet they aren't told to avoid the vaccines. Why?

Who is studying miscarriages, still births, birth abnormalities, birth defects of children born after Covid vax, and childhood progression?

Getting past obvious political bend while awaiting Kash and ECW's comments as to if they've been accurately or inaccurately quoted, this is a decent Jan. TL.

Days B4 1/6, PDJT turned over to Miller responsibility for deploying or not military or NG.

I ?? ECW's comments other than he didn't know any sooner than many of us the total implication in 1/6 Capitol event as to who instigators/antagonists were AND any later response was not readdressed in above.
