Can't believe I haven't posted about it yet, but I am a diehard fan the #TWA hotel's architecture and design. Located at JFK, it is repurposed from the TWA Flight Center days as a terminal. I spent a weekend there a few years ago, and I routinely go back to oogle at my photos...
The original architect Eero Saarinen hoped to capture the "spirit of flight" in the construction of the terminal. In the remodel we see these original characteristics preserved with a magnificent mid-century modern interior merged in by the awesome @StonehillTaylor
The terminal's main hall has such a cool retro futuristic vibe with the vaulted ceilings and curved concrete. I love the dedication to a red/white color scheme, a tribute to the original TWA logo. Just imagine the hustle and bustle here...
From the Sunken Lounge, you have a view of Connie, a retired Lockheed Constellation airplane, now converted into a cocktail lounge, sitting majestically outside. Upstairs there is a small "museum" showcasing artifacts from the TWA days.
The bedrooms, though all newly constructed, have a design that make them a natural extension of the atmosphere in the terminal hall. The color scheme, retro furniture, and of course, the planes outside.
If you want to see some photos of the terminal from the 60s, check them out here. I just can't get enough of this place 😍 archdaily.com/788012/ad-clas…

Last September I moved into a beautiful loft in Austin with 5 friends. We podded there for 3 months co-working and enjoying the property. I spent a lot of time admiring the host's very eclectic style. Here are a few things I especially appreciated!
The main room is an open layout living and dining space. It is very airy, so suspended lights can be used to create a perceived lower ceiling. The track lights here is a great example. With lights, the couch area feels intimate. Without, it would feel a tad too exposed.
Our host had so many wonderful knick knacks and artifacts from travels scattered all over the house. There were definitely still little treasures undiscovered when we left.
