1./ The vaccine hypocrisy of G7 leaders is breathtaking. They make it sound like they care SO very much about deaths in the developing world. Actually, their priority is about eradicating COVID globally in order to protect us; their own citizens. theguardian.com/world/2021/feb…
2./ That's understandable. The downside is they're asking African and other leaders to mount national vaccination campaigns (with all the effort that entails) when those nations have much more pressing health concerns of their own; like neo-natal deaths.👇 who.int/news-room/fact…
3./ 7000 new born babies die EVERY DAY across the world and EVERY YEAR 2.1M children die in the first month of life; almost as many people as have died from COVID so far globally. 5% of deaths in Africa are from HIV, another 5% from malaria, both entirely preventable.
4./ The average age in Africa is 19. The French ex-colony of Mali where Macron likes to grandstand so much has an average age of 15. Why would COVID matter as much to a nation like Mali as it does in France, with an average age of 41? COVID could be about to turn the tables....
5./ If we want to protect ourselves in the rich West from new strains of COVID that could emerge from, say Africa, then maybe we'll have to pay through the nose (and quite rightly) to the young, vibrant nations of Africa to solve their other major health issues as well as COVID.
6./ First, let's drop the BS about how our altruism is driving our vaccination "donations". We're going to have to ask Africa very nicely indeed if they could prioritise COVID. 🙏If they should agree, then Africans will be doing us a huge favour and not the other way around.
7./ It's obviously true that nowhere will be safe from new strains of COVID until every nation has ready access to vaccines. But if we want to vaccinate everywhere the West must also commit to lifting the burden of other diseases that blight the developing world and shame us all.

1./ @OzKaterji appears to be running a masterclass in narcissism. If you hadn't heard of him (I confess I hadn't) then he's the mouthy bloke that just smacked down a polite request from two lesbians who've spent much of their life fighting for LGB rights with abusive comments. 👇
2./ Now he's having a meltdown and anyone who accuses him of homophobia is threatened with legal action. But as a gay man I ask myself who really says to two lesbians, "fuck you and fuck you forever" and "I despise you". The idea that this is normal behaviour is absurd. 👇 Image
3./ Scour through the comments of @ALLIANCELGB and you'll fail to find anything remotely abusive. That's why Oz has to dredge up a tweet from a founder from before the organisation began (Oct 2019) that defended feminists who decide to engage with the Right. But here's the thing. Image

1./ If you've finished 'Call My Agent' and need more laughs in your life here's some comedy. @pinknews that parody of a news site is trying to police who speaks for gays as it denounces (yet again) a prominent woman. This time it's @KemiBadenoch who dared to meet @ALLIANCELGB👇
2./ The headline is surely a joke itself since the "secret meeting" was listed on a government website. Not as much of a joke though as the fact @openDemocracy who "broke" the story list 3 writers for what must have been a 5 minute use of a search engine.👇opendemocracy.net/en/5050/uk-equ…
3./ As you'd expect P News lift it word for word and then sprinkle some of their own froth on it plus anything else @MrJohnNicolson has invented during an evening's convivial tweeting. Since John and PN are both serial fantasists here's the truth (again).👇

1./ A thread on bad science and medicine gone mad. One of the parties in the appeal against the High Court ruling on puberty blockers is @TheEndoSociety a US-based lobby group for doctors who prescribe hormones. So why might THEY be involved?👇endocrine.org/advocacy
2./ The Society was founded as the Association for the Study of Internal Secretions by a medical conman Dr Henry Harrower in 1916 to promote gland extracts he claimed could cure almost any disease. Any resemblance to today is strictly coincidental.👇 acpjournals.org/doi/abs/10.732…
3./ In an article in 2013 the co-author of the Society's Transgender Guidelines reflected on how important was the Society's adoption. "There was an attitudinal shift to be able to say the Endocrine Society supports this." It would be milked mercilessly. endocrinenews.endocrine.org/blocking-puber…

1./ Is this shocking article proof 'gender ideology' is increasingly a form of death cult? It argues a charity preferred to risk gay men dying from a lack of medical info than allow discussion of extreme trans demands. It's not just gays that suffer.👇spiked-online.com/2021/01/29/the…
2./ Gender ideology loathes human biology and that's why it hates women so much. Their experiences, oppression (and incredible power of reproduction) are trashed because to understand them you have to acknowledge biology. Enter the "menstruators". thetimes.co.uk/article/i-am-n…
3./ So despite the fact there's widespread ignorance of anatomical terms and a huge need to encourage women to come forward basic public health campaigns are made difficult to understand by woke signalling in favour of a tiny minority of trans people. 👇phescreening.blog.gov.uk/2019/04/10/red…

1./ Brilliant piece by @iainmacwhirter on the vaccine nationalism of the EU. But where does that leave the claim from @NicolaSturgeon that the UK govt was just having a "hissy fit" about publishing details about vaccine shipments to the UK? 👇 heraldscotland.com/news/19052285.…
2./ Now that the EU is monitoring shipments of vaccines the idea the SNP govt would still publish details of exports to the UK from vaccine makers as she planned is ridiculous. It could trigger a major row and disruption of vaccinations. heraldscotland.com/news/19046339.… countries/
3./ Like it or not, the UK govt has played a blinder in securing vaccines. It will be fabulous if we can (eventually) share our surplus with the rest of Europe and beyond. But a similar spirit of generosity has been singularly lacking from the SNP. telegraph.co.uk/politics/2021/…

1./ Just how dumb is Emmanuel Macron? Today the French leader talked all tough about controlling vaccine exports while dissing a newly authorised vaccine as "quasi-ineffective". This isn't the first time he's played fast and loose with the truth. theguardian.com/world/2021/jan…
2./ I know we Brits love to poke fun at bumbling Boris. But did BoJo ever ignore his medical advisors and instead meet with a nutjob rebel doctor who was proclaiming the benefits of hydrochloroquine, Trump's magical cure? Macron did. 👇politico.eu/article/macron…
3./ Didier Raoult became a cause celebre by promoting Bolsanaro and Trump's favourite COVID "cure". The French medical establishment despaired when Macron met up to "discuss possible trials". Raoult is now on a disciplinary charge. theguardian.com/world/2020/nov…
