As @ZacBissonnette has pointed out, people way, way overestimate their risk if death due to COVID.
That doesn't mean it isn't a deadly or dangerous disease. It is! But most of us will probably die from heart failure or cancer. 🤷♂️

School closures are an egregious symptom of our inability to understand relative risks as we traded a tiny amount of risk for gobs and gobs of risk all because people thought that we were preventing certain death by doing so.
Once you go down that rabbit hole and people are convinced that school closures are a necessary and useful intervention, reversing course is nearly impossible.

He is running for US Senate.
As an NC State senator, he recently voted against a bill that would've required an in-person option statewide.
He is showing bad judgement and is not proving himself trustworthy.

School closures are a perfect litmus test to figure out if somebody is wise and trustworthy. It's really a pretty obvious thing, and if we can't trust you with this how can we trust you with anything?
