Please see below from @themohwgovjm a breakdown of the Covid 19 Vaccination budget.

This budget accounts for all the public educational activities, equipment and materials needed to effectively ensure the health and wellness of every Jamaican citizen.
I’d like to give a further breakdown of the spend, $22 million will be paid to a firm One Integrated Group to develop and implement the communication plan; $64.3 million for advertising in print, electronic and social media.
$27.8 million for 12 public education sessions in each regional health authority, that will include groups, medical professionals, teachers, first responders, et cetera; and $36.2 million for brochures, flyers and other material.
That amounts to approximately $150 million.
The vaccination budget, which totals $5 billion, includes:

•$13.9 million for vaccine freezers

•$19.3 million to provide 10 vaccination training for staff in each region
• $232 million to hire 20 temporary staff in each region for 12 months

• $46.2 million for overtime and other benefits.

The reality is that we are in unprecedented times. The hospitals are at capacity and our health care workers are overwhelmed and fatigued.
Jamaicans, it simply cannot be business as usual, you must follow the protocols outlined and communicated CONSTANTLY by the government or risk losing your life.
We met today to discuss and assess the situation and we will be converting more facilities into Covid wards however, this will mean that some services will become unavailable.

Based on the assessment of the technical team in the MOHW and after consultation with the technical team at the PAHO/WHO on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, I am now advising the Public that Jamaica is declaring community transmission of the SARS-CoV2 virus.
@themohwgovjm #JaCovid19
Community transmission means the inability to relate confirmed cases through chains of transmission for a large number of cases, and the increasing positive tests through sentinel samples especially from persons coming to health centres and hospitals.

As the country may be aware, the Government of Jamaica, based on the information provided by the @themohwgovjm through its continued monitoring and surveillance exercises for COVID-19, has instituted the quarantine of communities within St. Thomas & Clarendon.
The St. Thomas communities include Bamboo River, Church Corner and Summit. To date, the MOHW has conducted more than 300 home visits and collected over 700 samples.
