It’s important to point out, that among many other things, Fauci has repeatedly lied about his stance on masks

He claimed he said masks didn’t work on 3/8 to protect supply for healthcare workers, but also said to “skip” them weeks earlier while saying Covid risk was “minuscule”

If the risk was “minuscule”, why would he say to skip masks to protect supply for healthcare workers? They’d also not have to worry about Covid, considering the “minuscule” risk.

The real answer is that Fauci, accurately, knew that there was no evidence masks work

Once it became politically expedient to change his mind, he did, to go along with the CDC’s evidence-free recommendation. There was never going to be a supply issue of masks that healthcare workers would actually use, based on the CDC recommending cloth masks or bandanas.

Remember, this is a person who’s also claimed that the Trump White House calling out his mistakes was “nonsense” because “there were no mistakes”

That’s simply incompatible with his previous statements. Either he’s lying about mask effectiveness now, or he was lying then

Either way, his blaming of 500,000 deaths on lack of mask wearing is patently absurd, and assuming his views are “correct” now, either partially or mostly his fault considering he was either

1) wrong about masks not working or
2) lied about masks not working

He’s either dangerously incompetent or unaware of the contradictory nature of his own previous statements. Like when he said “we’re not perfect, we did not do everything right” back in August.

Then said he didn’t make any mistakes in February.

It’s extraordinary that we’ve allowed someone like this to run our Covid response.

Demonstrable hypocrisy, dishonesty, ego, ignorance and incompetence.
