(2) The LA Times reports from an anon source that "His injuries included a shattered ankle and two leg fractures, one of which was compound."
IMO it wouldn't be impossible for Tiger to resume his golfing career later on; he came back from worse injuries already. I'd retire but:
(3) We all know Tiger is the kind of person who will make that decision differently to most people. Gonna be several months before he recovers, at a minimum.
Sheriff reported he was wearing a seatbelt and airbags deployed. Was driving a Hyundai Genesis GV80 SUV.
(4) It appears that the car was a promotional one because it had "Genesis Invitational" signage & that was his recent event.
(5) Safety features: 10 airbags, a forward-collision warning system, evasive steering technology and an interior camera that alerts the driver if they're falling asleep.
Reportedly there were no skid marks. Usually that suggests a driver fell asleep at the wheel. But we'll see.
(6) Now I know many of you will think about prescription or other drugs but you should also note that falling asleep at the wheel peaks at this time of day. A person taking no drugs can do that, just from natural fatigue. The facts will come out in due course.
(6) Tiger's management have put out a statement following his surgery:
(7) Multiple open fractures with areas of shattered bones... This is about the worst kind of leg fracture you can have. Thank God he got to an OR quickly, and no doubt had world class surgeons working on him.
(8) As Dr Jesse Morse said, Tiger will probably need further surgeries on these injuries as he recovers.
I imagine Tiger is feeling incredibly blessed that it wasn't worse. I know he is an exceptionally courageous man. If anyone can get through this, he can.
(9) Here's what Tiger was doing Monday... watch the clip, it's really cute.
(2) On 1/6 Trump falsely accused Pence of lacking courage.
In reality he showed immense courage, and so did every LEO who put him or herself in harm's way, particularly Officer Eugene Goodman who acted as a decoy to lure part of the mob away from the Senate chamber.
(3) I spent 4 years & 4 months supporting, defending & boosting the Trump campaign, presidency, & agenda.
After 11/3/20 my trust in the presidency eroded week by week. In mid and late December I went on record 4 times on Twitter warning folk to avoid the 1/6 rally entirely.
I admire Tiger Woods. He earned his Medal & I wish him well.
If you listen to Trump on this clip, you can hear how much of a tragedy he thinks the crash is. The left are going to attack him for "ignoring" the tragedies of ordinary Americans. He walked right into this.
I can see why Trump would want to go on FOX and say this, but I think it's yet another bad decision after many months of them. Tiger has a PR battle on his hands already from this crash. Trump was thinking of himself, not Tiger.
Pence is reportedly planning to lay low for 6 months, and I think that is wise. It would also be wise for Trump to at least partially do the same.
I want the conservative movement to rebuild as quickly as possible.
Trump's actions & omissions have harmed our chances.
(2) Let's look at the assertions made just in the introductory paragraphs.
The DOJ isn't arresting "anyone involved with the Capitol breach."
They are investigating & arresting those with court-ready evidence of law breaking. And NOT just for breaching the building.
(3) I've read many of the charging documents available at this point.
Bc I've been reporting on this type of crime for 4 years, I know the documents only need to include enough evidence for the preliminary stages. Don't make the mistake of thinking you've seen all the charges.
(3) Van der Veen comes across as a spoilt child. He doesn't need to; he would be far more effective in his work if behaved at least a little bit professionally.
He loses his cool and plays the victim.
Observing "playing the victim" is a very good way to spot an abuser.
