If you never want to run out of opportunity, be known for doing a very specific thing, very well.
By patiently and consistently publishing original work, you’ll eventually have more opportunity than you know what to do with.
For many, the goal is virality — chasing that one elusive tactic that will win you a short period of exposure. Switching up what you’re talking about or who you’re talking to in the hope of knocking one ball out of the park. (once)
But, even if you connect once, you’re not sitting on the assets that would further convince a would-be-buyer of your expertise, experience, or the value of your product or service.
Most lucky strikes are anything but lucky.
TL;DR: “Play the long game.”
