Glastenbury is a mythical place; it's name derives from the germanic "glez" (germ "Glast") which means "to shine"/"sheen", corresponding to the greek word for "amber", sacred to Apollo. As such it was said that Glastenbury was the last isle before reaching the northern Hyperborea
In 700 BC Pythas the Phocaean set out to the edge of the world, to Hyperborea, sailing as far north as "the solid sea" (Plato's Phaedo-myth is heavily inspired by this legendary journey). On his way he also stopped at Glastebury which he said the locals called - Avalon.
Now Avalon is of course heavily connected to the Grail-myth, it is the isle where King Arthur died and where - as some say - the Grail itself has been hidden.
Believe it or not, it is also said that it is in Glastenbury that the first Christian site in Britian is said to have been established by no one else than Joseph of Arimathea, who, according to ancient tradition, brought the Grail to there after the crucifixion.
This site was the legendary Abbey of Glastenbury; this abbey was sacred to the Virgin, and so were the peculiar species of thornwood-trees for which it was famous the Glastonbury Thorn whose significance had already been well known to the Celtic druids
In the traditional Icon of Our Lady of Glastenbury we can even discern St. Kea ("Sir Kay") who is said to have been the spiritual father of King Arthur
Now the Abbey of Glastenbury was famous for its Chalice Well with its red water, not only reminding us of the blood of the holy martyrs that had been slain there, but also recalling of course once more the image of the Holy Grail filled with the blood of Christ
much more could be said about Glastenbury and its many legends, but we may leave it at that for this point. Suffice to say that there's more about this inconspicuous english town than meets the eye.

There's an interesting theory according to which the Jinn (the Platonic daimones) used to be the gods of a previous age; similarly Saturn, the ruler of the Golden Age, takes on an increasingly 'dark' character after being dethroned by his son Zeus (cf. also the Titans) ... ImageImage
Now according to the Quran the Jinn Iblis became Satan when he refused to bow to Adam; so that we might infer that the 'demotion' of the Jinn is actually linked to the creation of man (analagously it is also Zeus who exiles the Titans from Olympos). Image
It seems that in later cycles when the "tamasic" tendency (also linked to the Ashuras, the Vedic analgoue of the Titans, who, like the Jinn, were beaten in 'war of heaven' by the Angels/Devas) starts gaining dominance that the intermediary 'daimones' start to manifest malefically Image

A brief thread on the symbolism of foreskins / circumcisions [1/10]
first, let us note that the act of circumcision corresponds to an 'unveiling', a penetration to the 'inner core' (like the Holy of Holies in the temple) which is likewise a shedding of the 'garments of skin' (like Moses putting of his shoes before ascending the Holy Mountain).
This shedding of the garments (which were put onto Adam after the fall; Gen.3:21) thus represents a recovery of the primordial state (which is precisely what is effected in baptism, hence the Apostle speaks of a 'spiritual circumcision' as 'putting off of sinful nature; Col.2:11)

this image is so fascinating to me tbh, it's primordial, jungian, realer than real etc. it's an avataric manifestation of the contemporary psyche a true 'satanic' (inverted) icon; some brief thoughts (1/7)
its essentially depicting the violent subduement of the male by the female principle; now, traditional order rests on the female submitting to the male and the male to God (cf. Eph. V), this however is not conceived as a 'struggle' but an 'erotic hierarchy' (like Christ - Church)
The reversal of this hierachy is exactly the Fall; as such some of the Fathers interpret Adam as nous and Eve as psyche; micro-macrocosmic order & harmony being only archieved when nous is subjected to God and psyche to nous so that the divine light can illumine all parts equally
