Stop letting your emotional self make dumb decisions for you

1.) You are nothing without your emotions

For decades Psychologists & Philosophers

Believed that suppressing emotions was the solution to

all life problems

You can make really sound decisions if you don't let your emotions seep in

But this is not the case
When a guy named Elliot got a tumor removed from his

frontal lobe he somehow lost all his ability to Feel & Empathize

Because of this brain operation, his life became absolute shit

Losing a million-dollar would feel like pumping the gas to him

-He lost his job
-His wife divorced him
-He became homeless

and still, he got no remorse for himself

So suppressing your emotions is a really dumb idea

But at the same time

You can't let your emotional self take all the decisions for you

Your emotional self is like a 5-year-old kid

Nothing is grey for him Its either black or white
So how you can make sound decisions without suppressing your emotions

there are 27 emotions that a normal human feels

I'll talk about the most famous one

ANGER
1) BREATHE

Whenever your body feels a heavy Emotion

You start to have really small breathes

Be it Lust or Anger

The moment you become aware of it

Start taking deep breathes

10 or 20

It will do nothing to your situation

But your body will feel better
2) Express it but somewhere else

If you are in a job & you get paid for being angry then do it by all means

But if you want this emotion to not drive your decisions which can affect your

life

Just express it somewhere else
The best way is to write it down

Take a pen & paper
Write down everything you are feeling about that

-Job
-Person
-Your boss

How you ll take revenge?

Everything

Let that energy flow

-Hit a punching bag
-Scream on your pillow
-Take it on your Ego and outwork every one
But writing works best

Because it'll tell you in few minutes that you are a dumb creature
3.) Find the why?

As humans, we are really good at avoiding honest conversations with ourselves

and when you are angry your logical brain takes a back seat

After filling 2-3 pages when your head becomes a little bit cooler
Ask yourself from where this emotion is coming from

Keep writing

-What's the real reason?
-What trauma is it hitting?
-What desire of yours is not getting fulfilled?

Do it

You are thinking as you are writing
4.) The moment of truth

When you have reflected on the real reason

There will be 2 cases

1. It is something you can change

If this is the case do whatever you can to change it

Direct your anger in doing it
2. It is something you can't change

If it's not in your control then there is no point

in thinking about it
