Clear escalation from Saudi Arabia regarding Canadian sovereignty, targeting Canadian citizens of Saudi origin, and targeting their relatives and friends still in Saudi Arabia.

China is doing similar, though less outwardly violent, with Chinese diaspora.
One of the investigations made about General Michael Flynn was his willingness and behaviour to provide the location and ability for Turkey to remove a Turkish refugee Permanent Resident of US who had dared to criticize Erdogan.

Permission for foreign states to abduct citizens is a feature of far right complicity with & support of totalitarian autocrats it seems.

Canada is in a vulnerable position. Saudi’s and China’s incursions on Canadian citizens & landed immigrants is a threat to national security.
This cannot continue.

But Canada is hardly in a position to independently address the threat.

Western nations remain vulnerable to having immigrant citizens fearful of abduction, involuntary removal and possible Khashoggi-like murder? For exercising free speech.
Efforts to intimidate and suppress free speech are increasing in Canada by foreign adversaries.

CPC “strongman” confrontational demands to sanction China are hollow advice since Canada is minuscule in population compared to China.

theglobeandmail.com/politics/artic…
In one fell swoop China can destroy the Canadian economy with sanctions and tariffs. It’s called economic statecraft and practiced often by China to get their demands met.

Harper opened Canada’s economy and sovereignty to China for 31 years in 2014.

brookings.edu/articles/china…
What many overlook are the contractual relationships Canadian Conservatives legally bound Canada to both of these adversarial totalitarian regimes.

Harper CPC signed extremely long term trade agreements to both China and Saudi Arabia.
Harper signed and enacted the Canada-China FIPA, along with Ed Fast & Erin O’Toole without parliamentary debate.

Similarly, Harper CPC signed a multi year contract to sell military equipment to Saudi’s. A secret contract. Details forbidden to be discussed, never mind revealed.
Both agreements come with prohibitively expensive penalties for withdrawing. It could bankrupt Canada to withdraw from either, never mind both. Yet many continue to push to cancel these agreements, unaware of the economic consequences. While CPC pushes to escalate confrontation.
Much like the Trump administration, Harper made multiple accommodations to Saudi’s and China’s demands.

Was one of those demands the permission to harass or abduct immigrant diaspora with impunity, like Michael Flynn offered Erdogan and Turkey?
Remember there have been two strange and confusing incidents involving Canadian politicians suggesting acquiescence and deference to China and Saudi Arabia foreign policy demands.

McCallum is now working with a Chinese company to promote Canada for emigration to Chinese citizens. It’s a conflict of interest.

theglobeandmail.com/politics/artic…
Baird continues to work with Saudis on behalf of the US, as listed in his official Bennet Jones biography. Also deeply involved in China. And several Canadian corporate boards.
So what are the vulnerabilities presented by these political and economic relationships?

PMJT fired McCallum when it became clear he was promoting Chinese interests.

Baird performed the election review for CPC in 2019.
So who is cozying up to totalitarian autocrats in exchange for trade?

It’s not LPC.
Trump’s political theatre over US China relations was just that; theatre. Trump & Xi remained partners regardless of the trade war Trump waged with Xi. The trade war negatively impacted Americans, not China.

China fast tracked Ivanka Trump’s trademarks. forbes.com/sites/tommybee…
US signed lucrative 2 year trade deal involving Canadian oil sands assets (which become American assets the moment they cross the border if owned by an American producer).

politico.com/news/2020/01/1…

No mystery why Canadian oil companies moved to US immediately prior to trade deal.
$4.7B Alberta tax payer dollars provided in one time tax relief to help pay for the expense of moving?

No slowdown in AB oil sands production when bottom collapsed in OPEC overproduction move by Saudi Arabia to drive down global prices.

We paid for others to take our oil.
When prices rebounded those with stored oil on hand made billions in profits. Weird how Canada always seems to be the one shafted by these events, huh? Never the corporations producing oil sands.
Kenney was bent out of shape that Biden cancelled KXL on day one.

These events and actions are consistent with conservative trade deals signed by Harper CPC with China and Saudi Arabia.

They harm Canada, but enrich Saudi’s and Chinese, and American producers. Funny huh?
Repeatedly CSIS has warned that China and Russia are attacking Canadian sovereignty and national security. Saudi’s can now be added to that list of hostile foreign adversaries.

Canada is in danger.
Stop listening to Big Lie narratives created by CPC that tied our economic future to totalitarian regimes. Permitted foreign adversaries to invest in Canadian resources and continue to partner with avowed American fascists seeking to cash in on trade deals they’ve signed.
As CSIS and assuredly FBI investigate these invasions on Canadian soil, Canadians must acknowledge who created the possibility for these crimes in the first place.

When politicians tell you what you want to hear vs truth and fact, there is no ability to trust anything they say.
Kenney just released a budget that is in the interests of foreign investors and at the expense of Albertans. Do you honestly believe it’s a coincidence that UCP and foreign adversaries interests are aligned?

Canadians must stop viewing issues in isolation.
Canadians/Albertans must examine the broader interests that are being met by UCP and other con premiers provincial policies and budgets. When you do, it becomes obvious these politicians are working for others, not us.

This is what your rant about NDP not wanting to associate with Antifa inspires.

People who have a narrow view of the world feeling self righteous and lashing out at others because they don’t see the world in black and white. @IAMRockwell

Precisely what I was describing to you as the reason why ABNDP is choosing not to overtly support Antifa.

Because it has negative connotations about some of the people who purport to be Antifa.
Don’t think I didn’t notice you ducked out after this started.

Hostility to discourse to understand fascism & its dangers is required. Because people like this don’t help the cause against fascism.

It makes people unsure of the definition and appearance of fascism shut down.

I’ve written about surveillance capitalism.

It’s now morphed into collecting personal data to use in a surveillance state. Like China does.

Privacy is quickly disappearing.

Surveillance of our every move is an infringement on our freedom. Not masks.
How would you like your physician to get a detailed report of the number of times you visited the gym, bought weed, ate a chocolate bar.

Or your bank having access to the same information when they consider your business loan or mortgage?
How about your voting record. What if you vote for progressive candidates in conservative ridings. And your kids post secondary application is denied?

Or you don’t get that promotion because you didn’t pay your phone bill on time, repeatedly?

Please read this thread.

Q’Anon is a military grade radicalization operation.

It’s working.
Politicians like Gallant haven’t gone crazy. They’re participating in the radicalization of the most vulnerable members of the voting public.

Military grade psyops tailored to radicalize emotionally vulnerable individuals and manipulate them to believe “Big Lie” conspiracies.
This is a matter of record. Not conjecture.

Behavioural sciences can and is used to manipulate the most vulnerable among us.

The question isn’t whether MPs like Gallant need to be removed. The question is, does CPC endorse this manipulative and unethical tactic?

Please read this thread. Then repeat after me.

Conservatives and a republicans have been overtaken by Neo Nazis and FASCISTS using Christian faith as a shield from scrutiny.

This isn’t funny. It’s not hyperbole.
It’s absolutely terrifying how easy it was for fascists to sneak in the back door using religion and Christian faith to go largely unnoticed.
It’s horrifically shocking that we are so far along in a fascist uprising before the public begins to sense something is wrong with the right side of the political spectrum.

It’s mortifying how quickly this behaviour is normalized by the majority.

What part of history did Joyce Napier forget to read?

The part where hundreds of thousands of Canadians died or went bankrupt over 50 years in the process of getting universal healthcare.

Change is never immediate when it involves long term fed/prov commitment of funds.
Coordinating 10 provinces and 3 territories negotiations to adopt national standards, parameters and to absorb some of the cost in their budgets takes time and willing participants. Public pressure has to be immense. We have 5 provinces toying with private healthcare.
But people need coverage now.

Who is responsible for coverage? Not the feds. It’s provinces. Pharmacare is provincial purview.

Even if feds imposed legislation, there’s this thing called the NOTWITHSTANDING CLAUSE.

I saw the headline and fell for it hook line and sinker. Then read the article in detail.

What a sham article.

I have no doubt there are problems in Corrections. It’s a difficult population to address needs of inmates appropriately.
But inmates, regardless of the horrific crimes they commit, are human beings and deserve humane treatment while incarcerated, not torture.

That includes being attacked by other violent prisoners who have no concern for other’s wellbeing. Kinda why some of them are there. No?
This article is so biased it’s painful to read.

There are people who choose violence. The fact they choose violence is often a large part of why they are incarcerated. There is no acknowledgement of that reality in this article.
