This is kinda messed up. I enjoy international recipes from pages written by people of the culture that hosts the dish that I am making. I enjoy reading about their nanas and papas from India and Italy, etc. and why the dish is important to them. Feels like I'm part of the family
Reading stories I don't mind the ads that help the bloggers who work hard to maintain their sit so that we CAN have the recipes in the first place. It's not that hard to scroll past the ads and get the recipe, especially if I feel connected to the author... and if I'm hungry lol
but like I get it, ya know?? I just like learning about other people, personally

But I get it. There's definitely a demand for this
**site
The internet already kinda removes that personal interaction of us sharing recipes in person and then we go online and people don't want to hear the stories, it makes me a little sad ya know? I know it's not that deep to most people but I tend to think about social implications

Um the Daily Mail just bought New Scientist for £70 million 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬 Image
I’m trying to think of the best case scenario of having a company that runs a tabloid newspaper owning a science publication and all I can see is an actual shit show for scientists to battle exaggerated and misleading headlines
Immediate thoughts: We need to strongly emphasize science literacy in our schools and make sure we’re teaching kids from early on how to fact check and source their information. Make it as standard as learning the ABCs.

Are there any companies that want to sponsor my next music video? I wrote a banger and this song deserves a professionally shot video. I would come out of my own pocket for it but I am trying to pay my student loans 😭😭😭😭 it is real out here
And if I'm not able to get a sponsor then it's going to be another iPhone video lmao it's going to get done either way, just trying to up the quality of the visuals
The topic is chemistry-related

WATCH A SPACEWALK LIVE!! Happening RIGHT NOW 🤯🤯🤯🤯nasa.gov/multimedia/nas…
Did you all see the #ISS pass behind the shadow of the Earth? Everything is dark and now they're in "orbital night time". The space station orbits Earth about every 90 minutes, so that means in a 24 hour day, the space station orbits approximately 16 times!! #NASASpacewalk @NASA

As a scientist with a transgender parent, I need you to SIT DOWN. You don't know the science OR the history. You trust the science? Science draws a difference between sex at birth and gender identity. The systematic institutionalization of gender is a product of colonization. 1/
Whether you agree or not, the actual fact is that gender has existed on a spectrum and accepted that way within Indigenous cultures for thousands of years. This two-gender system has been forced on people through colonization, used to divide and conquer 2/ publicseminar.org/2018/07/gender…
There is so much scientific research done drawing lines between sex at birth and gender identity done by endocrinologists, psychologists, all the -ologists. According to science, your little sign is wrong. I invite subject experts in this area to join the thread and speak on this

I don't know how much more clear I need to make this, but please do not email Black women for free DEI work for your organization. Don't do it. Especially not to me. Pay us handsomely or get out of our emails.
If y'all EVER feel like you need a Black woman's opinion on your DEI work you MUST have a budget to compensate for the emotional labor and the time that goes into the process. Asking for free emotional labor and time to solve your organizational problems with DEI is offensive.
Don't ask to "pick our brains" in a "quick meeting"... particularly if we literally have never met and have no relationship. THAT IS A CONSULTATION. You should be asking what our consulting fee is. This is not a game. Its hard work and you're coming to us because we're valuable.

I love my Internet family but this is a thread of people I know in real life that you should follow. I'm going to start with Jasmine Golphin @WTMpresents who is a filmmaker in Cleveland and does super dope work and has helped some of my greatest visions come to life on screen.
My sister-in-law @RachelTravi is finishing her Ph.D. in Public Policy & International Affairs. Super thoughtful and smart woman. Love talking to her and she's the best sister. Highly recommend following her for information and engaging in discussions about current events.
Obviously, the husband @MrScienceMaven but his only social media account is the one I linked and he only uses the account to make fun of me. So, he's just a giant enigma to you lmao but at least he's funny, so if you think I'm funny, you'll probably love his page, too.
