Haaretz's @spungin interviews ex-UN official Richard Falk at length but fails to ask him why UN chief Ban Ki-moon condemned him for spreading 9/11 conspiracy theories, why UK thrice condemned him for antisemitism or why he wrote the ignominious 1979 NYT op-ed "Trusting Khomeini."
Richard Falk is knowledgeable, articulate, experienced & certifiably nuts.

His life has been marked by a peculiar attraction to anti-Western terrorists and antisemites.

Some of this was documented in our 2013 draft UN resolution calling to remove him: undocs.org/en/A/HRC/23/NG…
Haaretz's @spungin might have asked Falk about his extraordinary and unprecedented condemnation by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon for spreading 9/11 conspiracy theories as reported by...Haaretz: haaretz.com/1.5112878
.@haaretz, 2011: Ban Ki-moon condemned Falk's "preposterous" remarks endorsing conspiracy theories claiming the US executed the 9/11 attacks. Ban said Falk's remarks were "an affront to the memory of more than 3,000 people who died in the attack." haaretz.com/1.5112878

Falk was condemned by his own UN human rights chief Navi Pillay & by British Prime Minister David Cameron for posting an antisemitic cartoon. thejc.com/news/uk/pm-con…
On three separate occasions, the 🇬🇧 UK government condemned UN Special Rapporteur Richard Falk for antisemitism.

“This is the third time we have had cause to express our concerns about Mr Falk’s antisemitic remarks...“

One of the UK's condemnations of Richard Falk was for his endorsement of the antisemitic book “The Wandering Who”—which openly promotes "contempt" for Jews and was denounced as racist even by Electronic Intifada founder Ali Abunimah & other Arab activists.

Falk was so extreme that even Human Rights Watch felt obliged to distance itself from him, removing Falk from the
organization’s local Santa Barbara committee, on which he and his wife Hilal Elver had been active and hosted HRW meetings at their home.

Richard Falk was also condemned by the United Nations for blaming the 2013 Boston Marathon attack on “American global domination and Tel Aviv.”

2015—Falk hails book saying Charlie Hebdo massacre was a 'false flag' operation: “A necessary set of responses to the Islamophobic manipulation of the Charlie Hebdo incident, suggesting the urgent relevance of suspicion in response to official versions of controversial events.”

1/ Amnesty International strips Alexei Navalny of his prisoner of conscience status, saying he advocated hatred & discrimination. But Amnesty is being selective as they have supported radical Islamists, antisemites, misogynists, homophobes & terrorists. ⬇️

On Monday, Cuba takes its UN Human Rights Council seat.

If the UN cared, they would play the new anti-Communist anthem—by @GdZOficial @Yotuel007 @MaykelOsorbo @Descemer_Bueno @LMOAlcantara—that is going viral & sparking the regime's fury.

#PatriaYVida

Gente de Zona, Yotuel of hip-hop band Orishas & singer Descemer Bueno collaborated with rappers in Cuba—Maykel Osorbo & El Funky—who are part of a dissident artists collective that sparked an unusual protest against repression outside the culture ministry.

“Homeland & Life” repurposes the old slogan “Patria o Muerte”—Homeland or Death—emblazoned on walls across the Caribbean country ever since Fidel Castro’s 1959 leftist revolution & expresses frustration with being required to make sacrifices in the name of ideology for 62 years.

Usual day at the U.N.: Chairwoman of Committee on Decolonization praises Cuban & Syrian dictatorships for their work.

This committee of brutal despots is dedicated to “decolonizing“ Gibraltar, the Falklands, U.S. Virgin Islands—against the wishes of the people who live there.
The UN committee spoke of its upcoming “Caribbean regional seminar” in May 2021 on the island of Dominica to show "regional solidarity."

This committee is notorious for holding regional seminars in tropical islands—"alternately in the Caribbean and the Pacific"—at huge expense.
In the late 1990s, U.S. Ambassador to the UN @Madeleine Albright called these expenditures “frivolous & unneeded.”

Activities of this UN committee were investigated by UN inspector general Karl T. Paschke, who concluded that money was being squandered.

Humanity defeats hate.

Saeid Mollaei is the world judo champion from Iran who defied regime orders in 2019 to lose intentionally to avoid competing with Israelis. He defected to Germany.

He lands in the Jewish state today for a Tel Aviv tournament.

Israeli world champion judoka Sagi Muki, right, and Iranian champion Saeid Mollaei embrace at the Paris Grand Slam, February 10, 2020.

When Ayatollah Khamenei’s poisonous regime falls, millions of Iranian men & women will finally be free to embrace Israelis and all of humanity.
"Following what happened in the last World Judo Championships Tokyo 2019, the International Judo Federation pronounces against the Iran Judo Federation a suspension from all competitions."

When Iran appealed & lied, Saeid Mollaei testified against them.

No joke: UN Human Rights Council “expert“ @AlenaDouhan ends 12-day Venezuela visit by blaming country's meltdown not on Maduro—but on sanctions imposed on the regime's criminals by US, UK, Canada & other democracies. ohchr.org/EN/NewsEvents/…

@ABlinken Please condemn this outrage.
Note: the 2014 sponsor of this UNHRC mandate on “unilateral coercive measures“—which aims to portray brutal dictatorships as victims of Western sanctions that are somehow themselves human rights violations—is the 🇮🇷 Islamic Republic of Iran on behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Those who voted for the resolution included: Cuba, China, Pakistan, Russia, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Benin, Botswana, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Gabon, Indonesia, Kuwait, Philippines, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Vietnam...
