yes it is true that moon receives light from sun but the question arises that it was discovered by western scholars or not So for this, we need to go in the past and check

whether we get any trace that moon receives light from sun. Let’s check the world’s oldest Hindu text Rigveda. Rigveda Says:
सोमो॑ वधू॒युर॑भवद॒श्विना॑स्तामु॒भा व॒रा ।
सू॒र्यां यत्पत्ये॒ शंस॑न्तीं॒ मन॑सा सवि॒ताद॑दात् ॥ RV 10/85/9

In simple words: “Moon decided to marry. Day and Night attended its wedding.

There is one mantra in Atharvaveda too

जैसे यह चन्द्रलोक सूर्य्य से प्रकाशित होता है वैसे ही पृथिव्यादि लोक भी सूर्य्य के प्रकाश ही से प्रकाशित होते हैं।

that’s why it is said that Vedas contain all the knowledge & science that we have today. Manu Maharaj also said that वेदोऽखिलो धर्ममूलं means The entire Veda is the root-source of Dharma. Its time to put down my pen.
