Former Trump administration officials are joining their former boss in breaking yet another longstanding presidential tradition: They're not waiting to start bashing his successor. independent.co.uk/voices/trump-c…
"After the complete clusterf**k that was January 6th, you’d think folks would have the presence of mind to take a breath, write a memoir, cash the check, and let the post-presidency bump happen,” said one former official...who added that his...independent.co.uk/voices/trump-c…
...former colleagues "aren’t thinking about history’s judgment " because "they’re thinking about how to discredit or sabotage Biden and the Democrats.” independent.co.uk/voices/trump-c…
Ex-@DHSgov chief of staff @MilesTaylorUSA called the anti-Biden push by ex-Trump officials “desperate revisionist history… from people who lost badly and are eager to look like winners”. independent.co.uk/voices/trump-c…
“Never before in history have people who lost tried so hard to look like they actually won,” @MilesTaylorUSA said. “You’re seeing a lot of folks come out and try to claim victory...where victory is not the operative word — the operative word is failure.”independent.co.uk/voices/trump-c…
But @MaryLTrump suggested that former Trump Administration officials have simply picked up psychological traits of her uncle and his father. independent.co.uk/voices/trump-c…
“They have taken on some of his… defense mechanisms, coping mechanisms, and other things that one would use to evade responsibility, but it didn’t just start with Donald — it definitely started with my grandfather," @MaryLTrump said. independent.co.uk/voices/trump-c…
"They could not take responsibility for anything,” @MaryLTrump added. “And now the American people are bearing the brunt of it… It’s almost as if the Republican Party has taken on the role of my grandfather in some weird way.” independent.co.uk/voices/trump-c…

NEW: Extremism experts and ex-GOP officials are warning that QAnon-type conspiracy theories are becoming more intertwined with White evangelical Christianity in a way that echoes the Islamic fundamentalist movement that gave rise to al-Qaeda & Isis independent.co.uk/voices/qanon-m…
“Religious terrorism tends to be more lethal, because people believe they’re serving a higher purpose by committing acts of violence, as opposed to secular groups or ethno-nationalists,” said @TheSoufanCenter research fellow @ColinPClarke. independent.co.uk/voices/qanon-m…
“You can’t negotiate with these people, and you especially can’t negotiate with QAnon,” @ColinPClarke said, “because how do you assuage grievances that don’t exist?” independent.co.uk/voices/qanon-m…

First, @PressSec locks out everyone but the wires, TV networks & winners of a weekly “lottery.”

Now even if I “win” a daily slot to talk to the people I cover, it costs $170 but the White House pays for pool members like @AP (employer of @whca prez @ZekeJMiller), @Reuters...
...@business (all of which are in the pool EVERY DAY), the TV/radio networks (one of which has two @whca board members working for it) and other deep-pocketed outlets?

This is wrong and if @whca officers actually cared about advocating for all journalists instead of rigging...
...everything to benefit themselves and their employers they would take a stand and tell @PressSec that there will be no events covered by a pool unless she restores everyone’s ability to do their job.

NEW: Confidantes say Donald Trump's plan to keep teasing a 2024 run is at least in part meant to make state or federal authorities think twice about issuing indictments he could cast as part of an attempt to keep him from reclaiming the presidency. independent.co.uk/voices/trump-2…
Foremost on Trump's mind is a probe run by @ManhattanDA Cyrus Vance, who recently hired a crack team of forensic accountants and an experienced organized crime prosecutor. independent.co.uk/voices/trump-2…
Ex-federal prosecutor @glennkirschner2 says Vance's recent moves indicate that charges are imminent: "I don’t think Cy Vance would have spent considerable state resources to hire expert forensic accountants unless he was moving toward indictment & trial” independent.co.uk/voices/trump-2…

Hi, David Schoen.

First off, your client's aide (a known liar working for a known liar) denying a story for which I had multiple sources does not refute, & your client/his aide's LONG record of denying stories that were later confirmed as true (see Daniels, Stormy), actually...
...even more credibility to the reporting.

Second, the date is February 12, 2021.

I worked for Sputnik for a six-month period in 2017. That's not "recent."

What's more, I was fired from that job because of my *refusal* to promote the a conspiracy theory your client's media...
...allies were pushing about the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich. In fact, your client's favorite cable network recently settled a lawsuit with the Rich family by paying a large sum of money because your friends boosted the Russian propaganda I was fired for refusing to promote.

NEW: Current and former House staffers say @HouseDemocrats push to kick @RepMTG off committees gave @GOPLeader exactly what he wanted — precedent and grievance.

Ex-@GOPoversight spox @kurtbardella said @GOPLeader “allowed the Democrats to do his dirty work for him rather than address it directly.” independent.co.uk/voices/marjori…
