Shopee's monthly site visits vs. competition in their main markets
Quick [THREAD] with charts ⬇️
1/ In Malaysia, Lazada is the main competitor. After surpassing Lazada is Q2 2019, Shopee hasn't looked back.
2/ Indonesia is Shopee's biggest market so naturally there is the most competition. Tokopedia is gradually losing share. Lazada went from first to last in the past 4 years.
3/ Lazada is pretty strong in the Philippines but Shopee recently passed them.
4/ Same in Thailand. Lazada is losing ground.
5/ Vietnam is another sizable market. Shopee really looks to be distancing itself.
6/ Shopee is even winning in Singapore, its smallest market but where the business was started.
Amazon is gaining popularity as well (not shown but just to keep in mind).
7/ Shopee is gaining share in web traffic in every single one of its markets. This IS NOT a perfect parallel to actual market share but a hint.
1/ A liquid biopsy is usually a blood-based test that can detect cancer.
How?
By detecting either CTC (circulating tumor cells) or ctDNA (circulating tumor DNA). In some studies, ctDNA has been shown to have 100x the concentration as CTC though.
2/ So why is this important?
Well, the standard of care is tissue biopsies. Doctors lop off a piece of the potentially cancerous area (a chunk of your lung for lung cancer for instance) to verify if cancer exists.
However, tissue biopsies are inferior in a few ways...
2/ Ancestry and 23andme are probably the most popular DTC genetic testing companies. You receive a test kit, swab your cheek and then you can get insights into your familial history, etc.
However, the DTC market has been more difficult than servicing health care providers.
