Why the public does not trust the media or the "experts."
Here's the highlights from yesterday's Jonathan Gruber interview on Boston Public Radio.
Operation Warp Speed was met with mockery bc Trump used the Rose Garden to make statements such as calling COVID "Kung Flu" & COVID could be treated by injecting "bleach."
Trump said "Kung Flu" at campaign events, not Rose Garden & never said we should inject "bleach."
Gruber: Good news. There are zero people in the US that have been hospitalized or died after getting COVID shots. We don't care if you get the virus. It's whether you get sick from the virus.
Gruber: Warp Speed is the best thing the Trump Admin did. This miracle happened bc government had push and pull incentives and massively compressed the timeline. It's typically a 10 year process.
BPR: We rarely praise Trump bc they are fact driven. 100s of thousands are dead bc of Trump.
Gruber: Given how he got everything else wrong, don't give him credit. Give the credit to the HHS.
Gruber: Biden should stand up and thank Trump Admin for the incredible job they did in creating vaccine.
Why? Not to give him credit for saving millions of lives but to encourage Trump supporters to get vaccinated.
BPR: Republicans are much more skeptical of the vaccine than Democrats.
Gruber: Vaccine is Trump's greatest accomplishment but he's not taking advantage of it.
Gruber: Vaccine hesitancy is real. (But they're blaming TRUMP not BIDEN).
Gruber: In a year where millions lost their jobs and lives were ruined, his greatest 2020 disappointment is he missed his summer volleyball.
BPR: The slippery slope/Overton Window argument:
If it's ok to mandate health insurance, then why not mandate people get vaccinated? It's not nearly as extreme.
Gruber: SCOTUS found the mandate to be unconstitutional. It's a tax.
BPR: If you're unwilling to get the vaccine you should be required to move to Texas.
Gruber: His other great loss of the pandemic is not being able to go to live concerts.
According to Kaiser statistics, the amount of uninsured dropped from 46.9m in 2010 to 29.3m in 2020. That can be seen here: kff.org/other/state-in…
A further analysis of those figures show the non-group market only increased in size by 2.9m, Medicaid expanded by 12.1m, Medicare by 11m. Employer coverage, sparked by economic growth, added 9.9m to the insured count.
General Honore, the guy who is running the investigation into the Capitol Riots, actually invited his own "Green Army" to the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol in 2015.
1.8m mail in ballots sent out
2.5m mail in ballots counted
600k+ mail in ballots opened but not witnessed by poll watchers.
YIKES
Testimony: GOP Poll watcher denied access to Philadelphia polls by two unknown people. FYI: GOP Poll watcher certificates are yellow, DEM Poll watcher certificates are light blue. They knew he was from the GOP and denied access.
Testimony: Just before election, rule change requiring signatures caused the loss of several poll watchers from being able to perform their monitoring duties.
