🎞 I don’t think I’ve ever been so blown away by a film in my life. It’s rough. It’s bone-tinglingly scary, devastating, brutal, suspenseful, heartbreaking...with a very small glimmer of hope.

WelcometoChechnya.com
Putin’s strongman in Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has waged war on the LGBTQ community by kidnapping, torturing & raping them, forcing them to turn in their gay friends, sometimes killing them or returning them to their families and directing their families to kill them.
With the help of human rights organizations and lawyers, some of the victims have been able to flee, but the main subject of the documentary was not able to get justice in Russia after filing charges. πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ί

That’s not a shocker.
Thank God Trump did not win another term because that is exactly what would be happening here: and it wouldn’t just be people from the LGBTQ community.

On HBO Max. Might be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary, Feature Length. Announced March 15.

This Trump phone call to #Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger (and lawyers on both sides) is a MUST read.

My brother said he was watching THE GODFATHER trilogy during the holidays so I decided to copy him.

In the middle of GODFATHER II, I saw this scene w/ Senator Pat Geary & realized (with all deference to Francis Ford Coppola), this movie needs to be recast with today’s villains.
🎭 The part of Don Corleone played by Donald Trump...
The part of Sonny Corleone played by both Paul Manafort and Roger Stone...

πŸ—£ Maxine Waters on @allinwithchris: We should have impeached him sooner.
100%. It doesn't matter that the Senate would not convict. He should have been impeached earlier, more often and/or continually investigated; he admitted that this hurt him.

He lives in the moment & would have been distracted. He even said he deserved a third term because of it.
Also because it would have been the right thing to do. Political calculation should never have entered into it.

Trump is a criminal who belongs in prison and it is going to take a long time for our country to heal from this.

Not a lot of questions about criminal charges against former Libyan intelligence ofc Abu Agela Mas'ud Kheir Al-Marimi for constructing the bomb that killed 270 people when Pan Am 103 exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland.

32 years after the crime.

npr.org/2020/12/21/947…
When Barr was acting AG in November 1991, the DOJ charged two Libyan intelligence officers: Abdel Basset Ali Al-Megrahi and Lamen Khalifa Fhimah, 39 and 35 at the time.

Fhimah was acquitted.

Al-Megrahi died in 2012, but his case has been appealed.

nytimes.com/2020/11/24/wor…
al-Megrahi was granted a compassionate release in 2009 because he had cancer.

He insisted until his dying day that he was innocent.

His family has carried out his wishes to appeal the case.
