🩸 Period Poverty – Scotland is the first in the world to make sanitary products available to all those who need them, free of charge. 3/12
💵 Tackling the Gender Pay gap – Set out a plan to tackle the gender pay gap and labour market inequalities faced by women with annual reports on progress to the Scottish Parliament. 4/12
👮♀ Tackling Domestic Abuse - We’ve introduced a world-leading Domestic Abuse Act that makes psychological domestic abuse and controlling behaviour a crime. 5/12
👩🔬 Promoting women in STEM - Introduced new measures to tackle inequality and inequity, including gender stereotypes, in STEM learning and careers from the early years onwards. 6/12
👩💼 Helping women return to the workforce - Funding projects which aim to increase business start-up rates for women and the number of women in senior positions and encourage men into childcare to help to change the perception of caring as ‘women’s work’. 7/12
👩 Helping young carers - The first benefit of its kind in the UK, the Young Carer Grant, started in October 2019, supporting eligible young carers with a payment of £305.10. Young carers are much more likely to be women. 8/12
👪 Supporting new families - We’re delivering the Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods payments, putting £46.9 million in the pockets of lower-income families to help with expenses during a child’s early years. 9/12
🧒 Increasing childcare support - we are delivering 600 hours of early learning and childcare, saving families up to £2,500 per child per year and helping women return to work. 10/12
📦 Introducing the Baby Box – Giving every baby born in Scotland the best start in life by providing families with a Baby Box, filled with essential items needed in the first six months of a child’s life. 11/12
