This is a Democratic House candidate.

Yikes. Maybe deactivate your account, @Marston4ca42.

Reporting people quoting you verbatim? This is a hot mess.
Right before I posted the above, I checked her page. She was following me.

Now she blocked me and locked her account.

This person does not appear to have the temperament for Congress if Twitter is too much to handle.
And for the record, I only posted this because she was replying to people with “blocked and reported!” for doing... nothing remotely inappropriate.

A blue checkmark falsely reporting small accounts is not cool.
Oof.

“They don’t endorse losers with beards and dreadlocks.” - Marston referring to her 2020 opponent, Liam O’Mara, a college professor.

Ya know, it’s funny. I talk about things I like because I like them - and I like when other people discover them and like them too.

I’ve sent over 130,000 tweets. They were seen over 4 billion times.

No one has even offered to pay me for a tweet...

1/
I’ve talked about Olukai sandals, Dogfish Head beer, Merrell shoes, Spotify, musicians, and on and on.

I haven’t even gotten a friendly thank you.

Of all the people and brands I’ve positively mentioned, only one even acknowledged it:

@Bartees_Strange (great album BTW)

2/
It’s funny how people think there is some secret money-making enterprise where people get paid for tweeting.

Maybe there is and I’m just not invited. I’ve never even been approached.

Now I’m gonna go put on my Merrell trail sneaks, and go listen to Bartees Strange.

I don’t understand why this needs to be said to people on the left but:

1) We should care when a man on the left is accused of inappropriate behavior toward women

2) We should want to understand the full facts

3) We should care about speaking knowledgeably

1/
4) We should care about correcting misinformation

5) We should be against spreading unfounded conspiracy theories that discredit the women involved

6) We should be against reflexively dismissing women without even closely considering their stories

2/
7) These should all be true whether we like that person or not

And, finally

8) We should be able to have *informed* conversations about what we believe and what is an appropriate outcome.

This shouldn’t need to be said.

So, my friend, @thechrisbarron, and I are totally into this new thing of introducing new artists to y’all.

We have someone lined up for this Fri and he’s amazing.

19-years old. Unbelievable strings player.

Here he is *at 16* playing mando with Yonder Mtn Strings Band.

1/
Stay tuned for more on this week’s guest and his show on Fri.

This past Friday, we had a blast introducing @JuliaBhatt. Y’all loved her as much as I did when I first heard her.

We’re working to schedule another Live with her soon...

2/
Here is what you can do to support these fun shows where we get to see, meet and experience talented new artists:

1) Tune in
2) Spread the word that you’re coming to these, had fun, liked the artist, etc.
3) Follow the artists here and on IG
4) Buy their work, tip them

It has been a long, cold, lonely winter.

One of the things that has gotten me through it is live music.

Or, more accurately, sharing the joy of listening to live music with other people.

1/
That has been an accidental blessing.

It started in December when someone DMed me to tell me their nephew was playing live on YouTube in and hour and expected only a handful of family members to show up.

I posted about it and 200 of us piled in.

It was a blast.

2/
Even in the fractured dialogue of a fast-moving chat window, it felt like... normalcy... togetherness... community.

For an hour, it was just music and company and happy conversation.

It made me realize how much I miss those things. It was water to the thirsty.

I bought concert tickets today. It isn’t until September.

It’s a festival actually. Outdoors. Just off the boardwalk. A legendary venue. The Stone Pony in Asbury Park.

And I may be soft as butterscotch pudding but I flat out welled up when the confirmation popped up.

1/
Playing on the radio was “Everybody Lost Somebody” by the festival’s organizer: @jackantonoff and @bleachersmusic.

Pretty apt soundtrack for the moment.

2/
Man, it has been a long year.

It may be months away but come September at least, I’m gonna be outdoors at the Jersey Shore catching a show at the famous home of the guy on the Bleachers’ latest single.

Ibaka thought he was gonna posterize Giannis.

Application: rejected
I’m totally laughing at myself. Sitting here talking about Sergei Ibaka w my son in an unrelated conversation. Type Ibaka in tweet. I’m a dope.

That’s the gigantic 7’ 0” Ivica Zubac from Croatia.
See. They’re both tall. Their last names have five letters. Natural mistake.
