Reasonable estimates place Bitcoin’s current annual energy consumption at 130TWh, and Ethereum’s at around 26TWh.

By contrast, the energy used annually by #Tezos bakers is probably in the range of 60MWh.
Unlike a Proof of Work-based consensus system like Ethereum or Bitcoin, a Proof of Stake network like Tezos does not depend on the cost of the electricity it burns to thwart potential attackers. Instead, it depends on direct economic incentives.

Today we are excited to introduce FA2: a multi-asset interface proposal for #Tezos.

FA2 significantly extends the types of tokenization use cases possible on Tezos, supporting a wide variety of token types and multi-asset contracts in a standard API.

As a next step, we have opened a TZIP-12/FA2 Request for Comment on @tezosagora and look forward to the global #Tezos community's feedback and questions on the proposal:

To start playing around with an early FA2 prototype, check out @Stove_labs’ tutorial for implementing a mini-token contract using @trufflesuite and Flextesa.
