The new UN Panel of Experts report on #Libya is groundbreaking in its use of flight analysis to demonstrate arms embargo violations. I'm really proud of the work our team @C4ADS contributed to support their investigations (including the image here:)
Our analysis of ADSB flight data with our platform @icarus_flights (viaualized here in #keplergl) illuminates how companies like Cham Wings have provided an air bridge to support Haftar
... and how Turkey provides a lifeline to the GNA.
Foreign involvement in Libya's civil war is complex and often paradoxical. @IsaacZukin did incredible work making sense of countless of flight paths to illuminate this system of illicit transfers.
The flight analysis section of this report is really exciting in that showcases the potential of an emerging domain of open source investigation. Drop me a line if you're interested in bad planes and the people that use them.
Check out the fantastic @washingtonpost story on this Panel report from a few weeks back that references findings from @C4ADS flight analysis that appeared in the report.
