THREAD: Today is the one-year anniversary of when our government told us it would only be "fifteen days to slow the spread." Here are just some of the devastating effects COVID-19 lockdowns have had on our country.

A recent industry survey found at least 13.9 million, almost 45% of the nation’s small businesses are at serious risk of shuttering their doors by April 1.
This as corporations such as Amazon grow even larger.
There are some American children that have spent all of this past year going to school at home on their computers. In places like Fairfax, Virginia, online learning has tanked academic achievement and led to an 83% increase in failing grades.
Overall mental health issues, including self-harm, substance abuse and overdosing, have skyrocketed among teenagers since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
As small businesses suffered under draconian, anti-scientific lockdown orders, "mostly peaceful protests" and violent riots were allowed to go forward in the middle of their communities, via @nypost.

Even worse, many Americans had to watch as their elected leaders felt as though their own rules didn't apply to them.
Unfortunately, we still have yet to fully understand just how devastating the effects of COVID-19 lockdowns will have on our country. "Fifteen days" turned into quite the long year.
Our own @AndrewKerrNC put together a detailed timeline, from March 2020 until today, of how Andrew Cuomo went from media darling to facing federal investigations and bipartisan calls for his resignation.

Andrew Cuomo made his fifth appearance on his brother’s CNN show to discuss the pandemic.
If @Twitter, @Facebook, and @YouTube are censoring content that is considered to be "misinformation" about Covid-19, why aren't they doing it to people making the anti-science argument on social media that kids should still not go back to school?
All it took was a simple lab leak theory about coronavirus to provoke big tech but they don't seem to mind people spreading the anti-science position that schools should still be closed despite the fact that it has caused active damage to an entire generation of children.
Dr. Fauci has said it's time to open schools. The CDC Director said vaccinating teachers is not a pre-requisite for opening up schools.
Joe Biden promised to "listen to the science" but isn't using the bully pulpit of the presidency to demand teachers unions go back to work.
Not to be outdone, @ShelbyTalcott was also incredibly brave covering the riots this year including being assaulted in DC and arrested and held overnight in Louisville. dailycaller.com/2020/09/28/exc…
Hypocrisy runs rampant among our corporate elites. Many big companies have spoken out against racism and discrimination this year but have been linked to forced Uighur slave labor in China.
Our friends at @Nike once told us to "believe in something even if it means sacrificing everything."
Would you sacrifice your profits for the dignity of enslaved Uighur Muslims?
The folks at @CocaCola, @Apple, @adidas, @thenorthface all took strong stands against racism this year. They committed to "demand more from themselves."
Why do you allow your companies to rely on slave labor from a foreign country?
Democrats led by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer have spent months refusing to budge on COVID-19 relief.
Here is a thread to refresh your memory

It started when Democrats introduced their $3 trillion dollar HEROES Act in May, which included a bailout for the post office, a tax break for wealthy people in blue states, made illegal aliens eligible for stimulus, and mentioned "cannabis" 68 times dailycaller.com/2020/05/15/hou…
As a counter-offer to the HEROES Act, Republicans attempted to negotiate on four different coronavirus stimulus deals over the summer.
