The layers of brutality here are mind-boggling: first they bomb civilian facilities (schools, clinics), then they lie about it, then when the stories are told they punish them again with "smart" missiles.

And even more horrible is the denialist ghouls trolling the actual victims of this attack, poring over images of their horrific burn injuries in their efforts to portray them as crisis actors. This might not be equivalent to Holocaust denial, but it has exactly the same playbook.

Of course, the trolls pushing the myth that this attack was staged (debunked by @SyriaUK: syriauk.org/2017/11/the-bb…), like Robert Stuart and Anna Brees, are also leading COVID/vaccine denialists.

Here’s another example of this ghoulishness. A hospital is not al-Qaeda. An IDP camp is not al-Qaeda. This is dismissing civilian life in the name of the war on terror. (And of course Idlib has no US presence. If it was under US protection, these attacks wouldn’t be happening.)

The reply to @mariannaspring in this pic is a good example of how Syria war crime denialism created a template and audience for COVID denialism. (@mariannaspring & @mwendling's team at the BBC do amazing work unpicking the latter, hence their targeting by the denialist trolls).
