The current state of the numbers on 💉 exports UK-EU and EU-UK, as far as I can tell
If there is different data I am happy to delete and correct the graphic
Also given UK had administered 22809829 doses on 9 March, that means roughly 40% of the administered doses had been imported from the EU

Data: coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/vaccin…
And if your response to this is "companies export, the EU does not export" - correct! Congratulate yourself for having made an obvious point. Well done!

The numbers are aggregate numbers from plants in EU countries.

OK, now I have found time to look at von der Leyen's actual words earlier... the whole statement is here:
ec.europa.eu/commission/pre…

Highlighted bit is what got everyone excited
"countries, who have higher vaccination rates" can only really refer to the UK and USA at this stage (Israel does not have its own production just now AFAIK)

"whatever tool we need to deliver on that" has been interpreted as the Commission wanting to use Article 122 TFEU
This is the text of Art 122

After all the fuss in the UK press earlier this week that some European countries were somehow punishing the UK vaccine, I decided to take a look at how German public broadcaster ARD frames this on the website of its news programme Tagesschau tagesschau.de

🧵 1/10
For non-Germans: Tagesschau is the evening news on ARD, one of the two national public broadcasting TV channels. Its website is the place you go for a quick but bland overview of what's going on in the news. Something like the BBC News website

2/10
Separating out all the search terms is a bit tricky, but here is a rudimentary effort

AstraZeneca - 679 results
tagesschau.de/suche2.html?qu…

Oxford - 190 results, of which fewer than 20 during pandemic
tagesschau.de/search/?search…

All right then @GoodwinMJ

Here are the emails that you claim constitute harassment

Short 🧵
They concern this biography at the University of Kent:
kent.ac.uk/politics-inter…
And *did* concern this biography at Chatham House:
chathamhouse.org/about-us/our-p…

But that now gives a 404 error.

You can find it in the Wayback Machine here:

On 5 March I stumbled upon a small Eiffel Tower model in my neighbourhood in Berlin

But I had actually stumbled across a lot more...

Here follows an eccentric 🧵 about replica and derivative Eiffel Towers!
Twitter followers replied to my tweet with their favourite and eccentric towers

Suggestions poured in from 🇪🇪🇿🇦🇳🇱🇵🇭🇲🇪🇫🇷🇮🇹

And what better way to document all of this than to blog about it? And then map the whole lot on @Geoguessr to allow people to virtually explore them!
In total there are 8️⃣6️⃣ towers from 4️⃣2️⃣ countries on the @Geoguessr map

Most towers in a country: 🇺🇸 1️⃣0️⃣
Most unusual locations: 🇹🇯🇽🇰🇵🇰🇲🇴🇮🇷

So the European Parliament has today decided to *not* set the date when it will approve the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA)

What does this mean?
Provisional Application of TCA runs until end of April

Before then there are 2 EP plenaries
24-25 March
26-29 April

Effectively means the later one will be when approval (or not) happens
The Provisional Application deadline could, in theory, be extended further. But that needs the approval of the UK in the Partnership Council...

I suppose it's now not impossible it'd be extended further so as to avoid a major bust up in April?

Doing a bit of a reorganisation of my Twitter lists...

You can find all my public lists here:
twitter.com/jonworth/lists
There are two sorts:

5 lists for my everyday use
_EU
_DE
_TRANSPORT
_BREXIT
_INTERESTING

If you're on one of these it means I am more likely to see tweets you write than if you're not

If you think I ought to add you to one, let me know 🙂
I'm in the process of moving some Brussels based people from my _BREXIT list to my _EU list, and the latter needs a good bit of reorganisation

The priority for *all* lists is helpful and thoughtful people, people who help me understand the world
