Thinking of updating that Resumé?

Here are:

- 6 Types of resumes
- Contents of such resumes, and
- Best fonts to use on your resumé
1. Targeted resume:

This is something you already know. When you update your resume based on researching a particular role or company then you've created a targeted resumé.

Targeted resumes use key phrases and words to align your resume with an advertised role.
For a targeted resumé:

-research the role advertised
-watch out for phrases and keywords
-identify words and phrases that align with you
-update your current resumé to align with role and org

Targeted resumés are time-consuming but help in bypassing Applicant Tracking Systems.
2. Functional Resumé:

This type of resumé focuses on your skills and competencies. Here you would typically omit specific dates, names, and places.

You want to ensure the primary foci are your skills and overall experience.
The benefit of a functional resume is that they help people who might have multiple or large gaps in their work history because it simply focuses on your skills and competencies.
3. Chronological Resumé

Your chronological resume should be the most detailed resume you'd find but usually arranged from most recent to old.

Basically, your work history in reverse order, starting with your current or most recent job and working backward.
The Chronological resume is really good for candidates with rich, consistent professional experience. So if you know you've been kicking a** since way back, you can make use of the chronological resume.

Basically:

- Experience
- Education
- Training/Certs
- Volunteer experience
4. Combination Resumé

The combination resume is for candidates with a diverse background of experience or when skills & abilities are more relevant than work experience.

Also, if an employer prefers a long period of work experience as described in the job description, use this.
5. Infographic
6. Non-Traditional Resumes

In my next thread, I'd provide details for these ones.
Here are some great FONTS to use on your resume:

-Cambria
-Calibri
-Didot
-Georgia
-Garamond
-Helvetica
-Arial
-Book Antiqua
-Candara
-Serif

These font choices are as a result of their:

- CLARITY
- LEGIBILITY and
- SCALABILITY.

***Please stay away from 'cartoonish' fonts.

Thinking of Canada?

Things you should know before making that move.

1. Canada is not a polygamous country. It is illegal to be married to more than 1 spouse at a time. So, if you are married to 2 wives/husbands, only 1 can migrate with you & you must be divorced from the other.
2. If you have a girlfriend/boyfriend that you have been living with you both can claim Common Law & can apply to Canada together.

A common-law relationship exists from the day both of you can provide evidence to support that your cohabitation is a conjugal relationship.
3. Canada doesn't recognize a marriage by proxy (with the exemption of Canadian Forces members). If both of you are not physically present during your ceremony, the marriage will not stand.

For instance, 1 spouse in Canada and the other in Kenya when the ceremony took place.

Excited to introduce the new HumanSquad 🚀

We are moving from a simple Wordpress site to an improved cloud app. 🧶
In June 2020, we launched HumanSquad (a one-stop shop to connect intending immigrants to licensed & Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) in Canada) primarily to tackle the incessant increase of fraudulent “agents” outside Canada.
It was a Wordpress site with minimal functionality, but it was dope because it worked.

The team has since grown from just two Co-Founders to over 21 team members (RCICs inclusive).
