Crisis pregnancy centres are faith based organizations that are morally opposed to some of the key choices that people make regarding reproductive healthcare. #TheRightToChoose#ontpoli#onted
Deciding how to deal with an unplanned pregnancy is a very personal decision. It is important that people have all the information and support they need to make the most well-informed decision. #therighttochoose#onpoli#onted
They promote themselves through misleading advertising that hides who they are (evangelicals) and their true purpose, to convert clients to Christianity and “save” their babies. They are not interested in women who wish to continue their pregnancies and need support.
CPCs pose a significant threat to abortion access because they function as not only a physical barrier, but also as a cultural and psychological barrier by reinforcing abortion stigma. They foster feelings of guilt, fear, anxiety, and confusion in clients considering abortion.
The choice to terminate a pregnancy does not induce mental harm, but anti-abortion rhetoric, manipulative tactics, and the shame-based climate they create certainly do. #therighttochoose#onted#onpoli
The inherent anti-abortion bias of a CPC means they can’t be objective or professional because their main goal is to dissuade women from having an abortion. #exposefakeclinics
Disclaimers to watch out for.
We should all be pro truth, because every community deserves equal access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare. ❤️
