NEW: Robert Scott Palmer’s attorney says his client wasn’t aware he was on the FBI’s Capitol wanted list until HuffPost gave him a ring.

“He certainly became aware of it, maybe during the conversation with you guys.”

Palmer, his attorney said, is a “true believer” who regrets his actions on Jan. 6 and is “trying to do the right thing now.”

Palmer retained his lawyer shortly after HuffPost’s story ran.
