Here’s the theme of my Twitter feed today: our responses to this pandemic have seriously harmed children. There is no scientific need for what we’ve done but nobody will do anything because kids don’t matter. Adult inertia is damaging children.

Young children aren’t required to wear masks anywhere else in the world but here. The WHO has a sensible position, meanwhile the @CDCgov sets standards followed by schools, airlines and stores that require 2 and over in masks. For no epidemiological reason.

We need to get angry about what we’re doing to kids and what we’ve already done over the last year. It doesn’t end with the school closures, not by far.

Join me in getting angry. Contact your representatives and advocate for children, even if you don’t have any. Ask them to demand the @CDCgov follow the science on kids and masks. Demand answers about pediatric psychiatric care. Ask them what they are doing to open schools.
