yeah. i think the broad problem here is the growing disconnect between state and federal law on marijuana. it is basically untenable to have something that is increasingly legal in the states but illegal under federal law.

the fact that Virginia of all places is on the verge of legalizing marijuana should be a sign to democratic leaders that the political risk is low (and the political reward is, uh, pretty high)
