Consuming podcasting is like learning on the go for a lot of people these days.
As a brand, you should definitely have a podcast for your audience as a voice marketing strategy.
Well-conceived podcasts are an effective, portable, convenient and intimate way to deliver and produce content, and to build ongoing relationships with your clients, employees and constituents.
Now before I give you all the benefits, let me tell you, I am sharing them with you because I have myself learnt & applied them over the past 3 years for my own podcast & getting awesome results for my personal brand.
Almost 90% of the times during these 3 years, whenever I have searched for the term "digital marketing" & "personal branding" my podcast has shown up in the top 3 results on Apple Podcast & Spotify both.
And while drafting this thread, I did the same thing & check this out what I have:
And this one is from @ApplePodcasts at 6:09pm IST !!! I am drafting this thread while buying some medicines for a relative with whom I am roaming around the city for health checkups, MRI & all since past 6 hours and that’s why there is a difference of 4 minutes between 2 pictures
Okay now I am in the basement of this hospital & I want to finish this thread anyhow & it’s 6:11pm right now. So let’s continue with this valuable thread 👇
You can try taking screenshots right now on your phone if you want to double check my podcast position (depending upon when you are doing it, the results might vary).
So keeping that in mind & being a podcasting practitioner, here are the 7 benefits of podcasting for your brand 👇
1. Podcasts make information personal:
In a podcast, the content is communicated directly to you, the listener, either verbally or through video. Personally, I do both! That’s a much more intimate way of getting information in 2021.
2. Podcasts are convenient and easy to consume:
Once you subscribe to a podcast feed, new podcasts are automatically downloaded to your podcasting apps as soon as they are available. You can listen to them at your convenience.
3. Podcasts cut costs:
Because podcasts are delivered digitally, they eliminate many costs associated with other forms of communication including postage, printing, and paper. They can also reduce meeting costs. They are easy to archive and updating them is quick and easy.
4. Podcasting is a time-efficient form of communication:
You can listen to podcasts while you do other things at work or at home, or during your commute. Some types of meetings can be eliminated in favor of podcasts, saving time and improving productivity.
5. Podcasts are portable:
You can take the podcast with you and listen whenever or wherever you want. Especially while travelling!
6. Podcasting is an on-demand technology:
Listeners decide what they want to hear, and when they want to hear it. On one hand, this means you’re competing for their eyes and ears.
On the other hand, this means that if they are subscribing to your podcasts, there’s an excellent chance they’re actually getting the information you’re providing to them. And your brand's voice is constantly hitting them day in and day out with some valuable information.
7. Podcasts are one way to deliver on a social networking strategy:
Your podcast subscribers are the core of your community and over time, they will be your best prospects for deepening the relationship through cross-sell and loyalty tactics, provided you do it the right way.
Provided you deliver more value upfront through your episodes over the time & then try to ask for that hard sell (at times).
Can I be completely honest with you? I don’t why, but I am liking Twitter Spaces way more than the Clubhouse app experience. I don’t know why; it could be the features, the UI, or maybe some other reasons.
Anyways, so I was having a discussion in @varunduggi ’s space about some tips and strategies about how beginners can effectively monetise their content. There were some really great insights from a dear friend of mine @VaibhavSisinty and a successful entrepreneur @viraj_sheth
Now that doesn’t mean you have to spend your whole day with your parents or do whatever they ask you to do everyday & then have losses in business or work because of the time you spend with them. No not at all. Let me explain that with a super practical example of my life.
Let me share: How I have been able to maintain a healthy relationship in my personal life even though I have been busy AF over these past 10 years from 2010 - 2020!!
