Yesterday's @GovRonDeSantis roundtable underscored for me why our founders gave us a constitution that limits the powers of government (no pandemic exception).

It was clear that the governor is fully on Team Reality, so why are masks required in much of Florida?

It's obviously better to have decisions on restrictions made by elected officials instead of unelected officials, but elected pols always have to be thinking about the next election and not losing the middle.

Our current situation is that the media and people like Fauci have made the middle scared and have convinced them that masks are our way out. So an elected pol hesitates to go against the beliefs of the people, regardless of what he knows to be true.
